Namaste!

This is to inform to all seekers in the path of Self-Realization, that we just launched a comprehensive portal to dessiminate the message of sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Please visit http://www.maharajnisargadatta.com/

The site is mainly focussed on the teachings, talks, quotes and reminiscences of Nisargadatta Maharaj and other notable saintly masters such as Ramana Maharshi, Ramesh Balsekar, Papaji and others. It is our aim to bring a clean, well designed and informative resource for all advatin seekers mainly in the path of direct self-enquiry.

This site currently includes, in addition to others, a spiritual library containing nearly 90 online texts (mostly downloadable) about the teachings of revered advaita masters such as maharaj, ramana maharshi, swami sivananda etc. And Upanishads and Gita are also included.

Please visit http://www.maharajnisargadatta.com/ In the very near future, we are willing to bring a series of articles related to the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ramana Maharshi, Advaita Vedanta and our ancient wisdom of Upanishads.

We seek your support, suggestions and encouragment to serve the community of advaita seekers with this small website.

Thank you for your support.

David Godman presently lives in Tiruvannamalai, few kilometers away from Shri Ramanashram.

Dear Venugopalji,

Thank you very much for your correction. I corrected the name in the

website.

I hope I am doing something interesting and useful to my targeted

users like yourself. I am planning to expand the site to include as

much related info as possible.

I am also planning a full website on Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.

That will be coming soon. I am trying to fill as much of time as

possible in work that is someway related to my sadhana, so that I

will have no spare time to distract me.

Regards

Aditya

Dear Shri Adithya, Greetings. I am a humble admirer of Shri Ramana Maharishi and also Shri Nisargadatta Maharaj. I am planning to visit Shri Ramanashram in Tiruvannamalai, shortly. I had already requested for a meeting with David Godman and he has readily agreed. There is one called adisankaracharya . There one Shri Pradeep has posted an e-book on Shri Nisargadatta Maharaj. He has prepared this book by reading nine books on/of Shri nisargadatta Maharaj. I had requested him to post one copy to your site. I am attaching one

copy with this letter for your personal use. Wishing you all succerss. With love and regards Venugopaladitya0908 <aditya0908 wrote: Dear Venugopalji, Thank you very much for your correction. Dear Sangha,

Thank you so much for this. Now I have more to read.I read this from

Nisargadattas teacher...

" ...Ignorance has come by hearing it over and over for generations.

Only by practicing and hearing otherwise, the truth, from the

teachings of the Master(s) and thinking over it, just like the bird

flies from one tree to another, one can attain Final Reality very fast. "

This makes sense to me, to expose myself to more and more of the

teachings. Make more time reading about truth and going to satsangs.

It came to me also that with the computer, it's as good as having a

living guru reminding me and lifting the veils that cover what I know,

what I always knew. So many good teachers giving satsangs on Youtube,

for example , and lots of texts to read, old and new.

So many activities seem useless. They will not help me to reach the

final goal, Nirvikalpa Samadhi.

I don't have children and don't desire to work much..so have alot of

time to keep exposing the mind to truth. With the aid of the great

computer, consciousness in another amazing form.

Does anyone know how much reading Ramana did in his years of

seclusion? I know he loved Adi Shankaracharya.

Dear Soulyoginima,

Sri Ramana did not do much reading on Advaita at first as he was mostly

in samadhi. When his consciousness normalized, he started doing some

reading. In the beginning he started reading to his attendant

Paliniswami, who found it difficult to read and understand and make

things out.

Sri Ramana is one of those sages who became Self-Realized and only

afterwards discovered that Advaitic scriptures and works of Sri Sankra

were describing his realization. In that way, his Self-Realization is

the most mysterious as it came upon him spontaneously.

Reading is an activity. Listening is an activity. Thinking is an

activity. All these are actions. Sri Krishna has said that it is not

action but attachment to action that binds us. Action cannot be given up

by will as it is according to our karma. Some people are bound to engage

in action. Others do not have to because it is not their karma or destiny.

Most sages go through a period of seclusion and quiet giving up all

activity except reflection and contemplation which becomes natural.

Nirvikalpa Samadhi usually results from one pointed meditation and

inquiry with reverence and devotion over a long period. Sri Ramana has

said that once someone has grasped the essential teaching, they need not

go on reading and reading. The thing is to meditate on the essence of

knowledge within oneself.

You should read " Talks with Ramana Maharshi " . Too many teachers and too

many books can be confusing. There is saying that if you dig one hole

deep, you strike water. If you dig many little holes, it may not lead to

water.

The goal in Sri Ramana's teaching is Sahaj Samadhi. Nirvikalpa Samadhi

reveals the Sahaj state. Sahaj means natural. To be who you are

naturally and spontaneously is the Sahaj state.

Yours in Bhagavan

Love to all

Harsha
