It has a very special > significance, a very special " power " > and a very special role. This 'i', this belief in having a Choice, the belief in having the Power to choose/change thoughts, dreams, feelings, actions, things... is missing in dreams. And, other thing which is usually also missing in the dreams is movement. The body stays kind of frozen during dream. In my dream, I want to run... but, I find myself unable to run. In dreams, I want to escape, but, find myself unable to escape. Is the missing Belief in having power to change/choose actions, thoughts, things... makes it this way? I read in a " brain article " that some people continued getting pain in their now missing limbs because their brain still believed they had those organs. I also read that a large part in recovering from 'paralysis' is making the brain 'believe' that it indeed has power to move those muscles! If that's true, then, maybe, this 'i', this Belief in having Power to choose/change thoughts, dreams, actions, things... is very, very crucial and important. Maybe, that's why we don't really permanently 'give up' this sense of 'i', because, at sub-conscious level we DO KNOW how important and crucial this sense, this Belief is! Ah yes... the magnificent 'i'... the " Belief in having Power to choose/change thoughts, dreams, actions, things...is very, very crucial and important. " So ignorant is this 'i' that in its stupor, it is unable to realize that it is but a mirage. Such is a conditioned illusory mind... conscious and subconscious. See the false as false and the Truth is revealed... the illusory mind KNOWS NO BELIEF THAT IS TRUE. Nevertheless... God KNOWS Itself through the experience of being human... conditioned mind included. Understanding this cannot come from personal volition... it is simply God's choice to do so... or not.
