that there is only observation.

Then I thought:

That can't be right

cuz when I looked for observation

I couldn't find it

anymore than I could find an observer

so now the title of my song is:

There is only what is.

detachment is the key.

in detachment what is left a witness to what is

and the witness fades into simply what is

What gets detached from what? this is not a cutesy question but

Another way to say it, IMO, is that the observer, the observed and

observation are all one and the same. Discrimination just happens,

it's a kind of " cosmic joke " , or like Hindus put it: God is playing

hide-and-seek with himself! :))

Nisargadatta speaks to this. The very fact that you are the knower

comes the realization you cannot know yourself. Detachment from what

is, is not.

But detachment from ego/mind is to witness the creation as the creator

Joe.

Hmmm..'i' don't know.

but..'i' know that 'i' don't know.

'i' don't know who the 'i' is that knows 'i' don't know.

you know what 'i' mean?

'i' hope so..because 'i' sure don't.

it really doesn't matter anyway.

a what for, or a why, who is asking?

the word " witness " used in this text is used as a verb not a noun.

but anyway in duality there is a real person and a real witness.

My web page randomly pulled up this quote after I had sent my earlier

post. Nisargadatta says it so much better than I ever could, so I

offer you this quote on the matter as well:

The witness is merely a point in awareness. It has no name and form.

It is like the reflection of the sun in a drop of dew. The drop of

dew has name and form, but the little point of light is caused by the

sun.

so 'you' say.

'i' don't know 'who' 'you' are.

what duality?

what does 'real' mean?

'i' don't understand.

all nouns are equally verbs

all verbs are nouns.

the 'doer' is the 'doing'...

the 'doing' is the 'doer'.

basic..simple..indisputable.

all is One..

there is no 'text' nor 'context'.. outside nor inside.

there is nothing to be 'inside' nor 'outside of, for, by, through.

but 'your' thinking so...is just the thought that you're thinking so.

no thinker needed... nor 'thought'.

but apparency does create the trapped apparency..

and 'it' calls 'itself' the 'thinker' of 'thoughts.

comical in an odd or whimsical manner.

sometimes it's called and appears as 'joe'.

joe-joe is a 'man' who 'thinks' himself a 'loner'.

what a thought!

since from the beginning there is nothing..

there is nothing to reflect..

nothing to reflect upon..

no reflecting whatsoever.

all imagination.

yet there is no one to imagine.

nothing for imagination.

imagine that.

yes it is all imagined

awareness is all that is real,

awareness being aware of itself is called

experience.

the glory is in the experience.

Joe.

(I got to admit B.B.B. I be liking talking this way with you, it is

the prayer of vigilance)

Hi Z,

You asked 'What gets detached from what? " The only thing attached

is mind. YOU have never been attached to anything...impossible. When

you come to know who you truly are you will know that you are not body

or mind. And then you come to discover that there is no need to detach

anything. The pain of attachment is only the belief that " I " am

attachment. But " I " am not attached. Ego is only the belief in

ego...that I am separate...body/mind. When you come to know who you

truly are you will know that you don't have to kill or transcend ego.

When come to know who you truly are the belief in ego disappears. When

the BELIEF in ego disappears, ego disappears. If you can do what

Maharaj says, which is to only pay attention to " I am', ...but let me

say it differently...You are aware...yes? Now if you change the word

aware from a verb to a noun and make it synonymous with 'I' see what

happens. I...aware. It should take you away from believing you are in

the body, being 'someone who is aware', and place you firmly in the

NOW. Just aware. A sense that you are not 'inside' can happen. And so

whenever you see yourself trying to figure out or understand just

stop...and notice that you and aware are synonymous. See what happens.

That is exactly what Maharaj is saying. Stop...and see who you truly

are. And do it over and over and over. It is truly that simple but we

still want complication...to understand, figure out and philosophize.

But it will never happen like that. A mature person is ready for

absolute simplicity. Nothing! Truth!

Peace and love, Sal

Hi all,

What gets detached from what? this is not a cutesy

question but something important to find out.
