Hi,

I'm a new member...I'm familiar with Joel Goldsmith's writings. Joel

had studied Sanskrit in order to read Shankara's writings in their

original version.

To get back to my question, what are the simple steps in order to

finally feel self-realised...as apparently we are already self-realised?

Thank you.

Very, simple:

Take a hammer and hit on your thumb. And you will understand without

needing words.

Often however the words " self realized " are a lie, because in truth

what is desired is really only more ego being realized disquised as a

seeker or whatever. That sneaky bastard ego.

it's sorta like...

trying to pull your fingers out of a chinese finger trap.

the harder you pull... the more 'you' try...

the more tightly trapped the fingers become.

just relaxing wins the day...and the trap just slips off.

and you realize that your fingers were never trapped.

the isolated ego lets go of it's grip in the same way.

'you' just can't 'try' to lose it though.

it's not real.

and all the 'trying in the world...

only amounts to not freeing the dream rooting.

CONSCIOUSNESS seems a far more natural rooting..

than ever the old one of the ego was.

that false identity is merely a malfunctioning jamming...

which actually begs to be annihilated.

it may very well be it's sole purpose.

to be returning Home which was never left or apart.

christ .b, you are so fucking eloquent.

consciousness is so far more natural and so much easier! life is

lived as it unfolds. whew!!

what a fucking relief! the glory of it all, detach and the weight

falls away of having to try to be. it just doesn't matter.

LOL,I like what you say about the purpose of ego is to kill itself.

how fucking ironic yeah? it is all such a joke and yet the truth that

home is always here knocks my socks off. talk about self realization!

Good stuff .b.

Joe.

....

Papaji: Imagine that you have just

come out of a cinema after seeing a

show from ten till five. You go home

and your friends ask, 'How was it?'

What will you tell them?

Interviewer: 'It was a beautiful show.'

Papaji: You can bring the memory of

those images to them, but you brought

nothing from your sleep. Who woke up?

....

So, I will ask you again: when you

wake up, who wakes up?

Interviewer: It is the 'I' that wakes

up.

Papaji: OK. The 'I' has woken up. When

the 'I' wakes up, the past, the present

and the future also wake up. This means

that time and space also wake up. Along

with time and space the sun wakes up,

the moon wakes up, the stars wake up,

mountains wake up, rivers wake up,

forests wake up, men, birds and animals

all wake up.

When the 'I' wakes up, everything else

wakes up. While this 'I' was sleeping

during the sleep state, everything was

quiet.

******If you don't touch the 'I' which

woke up, you will experience the

happiness of sleep while you are awake.******

Do it for one single second, half of a

single second, a quarter of a single

second. Don't touch the 'I'. The 'I' is

something that we can well afford to be

without.

******Don't touch the 'I' and tell

me if you are not sleeping.******

Interviewer: That is right. In that

instant, everything is like a dream.

Papaji: This is called waking while

sleeping and sleeping while awake. You

are always in happiness, always awake.

This awakening is called Knowledge,

Freedom, Truth. Don't touch the names,

though. Get rid of all the words that

you have so far heard from any quarter.

And you will see who you really are.

[silence.]

==========

Q: " At this moment, while erroneous

thoughts are arising in my mind,

where is the Buddha? "

A: " At this moment, you are conscious

of those erroneous thoughts. Well, that

consciousness is the Buddha! "

.. . .

Your true nature is something never

lost to you even in moments of

delusion, nor is it gained at the

moment of Enlightenment. It is the

Nature of the Bhutatathata. In it is

neither delusion nor right

understanding. It fills the Void

everywhere and is intrinsically of the

substance of the One Mind. How, then,

can your mind-created objects exist

outside of the Void?

.. . .

Q: " What is the Buddha? "

A: " Mind is the Buddha, while the

cessation of conceptual thought is

the Way...The Sambhagakaya

is not a real Buddha, nor a real

teacher of the Dharma.

Only come to know the nature of your

own Mind, in which there is no self

and no other, and you will in fact

be a Buddha! "

Take Deep Breathe...

Inhale...

Exhale...

Once... twice... thrice... do it five times...

Now...

Realize that IT is YOU, who is doing it!

Anytime, you think you " forgot " or " lost " ... ... do IT Again!

Or, do 'anything' else,

just do it CONSCIOUSLY...

do it by WANTING to DO IT,

do it by DECIDING to do it............................ that's All!

....

Read this Message...

but, first DECIDE to Read it!

Now, DECIDE to read one l e t t e r . . .

Now, DECICE to read the n e x t l e t t e r . . .

Now, DECIDE to m a k e a w o r d out of it . . .

Now, DECIDE to i n t e r p r e t that word . . .

DECIDE and WATCH yourself " doing " All Of It... deciding, watching,

reading, interpreting...

Realize that it is YOU, who is doing All of It!

SEE " how " you are DOING All of It!

Or,

DECIDE to think

DECIDE to think about W A T E R . . .

Now . . .

Or,

DECIDE to chew your fingernails...

Or,

DECIDE to scratch your back...

Or,

DECIDE to scratch your head...

Or,

DECIDE to ... 'become angry'...

Just DO it Consciously. . .

Do it with FULL Attention. . .

And, just WATCH yourself doing IT!
