Why not do whatever shows up and " practice " rule #6 exclusively?

You can't even do " whatever shows up " because you are part of that

which just shows up.It wuld be like telling one leaf in a stream to do

something to another leaf in the stream.Hey, they are both in the same

fix. Z

Tom,

The intent is what matters here, not the words chosen to speak that

intent. " do " is duality, these bodies and minds live in duality, but

that is not who you are.

So, no, you are not a part, you are what shows up. You are both leaves

and the stream . And you are the fix that you think you are in.

Separation is illusion. Chasing that tail again.

Joe.

What possibly is to be remembered here, is that there appears to be a

certain reactivity to the 6 words of advice, like they are the 10

commandments. It is good to be doubtful about the fact advice from

one person to another is not necessarily right for you, or everyone,

but possibly perfect and expedient (upaya) for Naropa.

Nisargadatta did not treat every one exactly the same way, or give the

exact same advice, it was all just a pure expression of the

non-grasping and happy in the face of the seekers of the West.

The context for Naropa, is he was a University Professor who knew it

all, and realized much, undefeatable in Buddhist debate about

definitions. One day he was reading some scriptures and an old lady

came up to him and asked if he understood what he was reading. He

said yes. Then she asked if he understood the essence. He said yes,

but then she started crying. It wore on Naropa for sometime, thinking

about the old lady and her question, and he realized he needed a

teacher, and fild a wild Yogi, Tilopa.

So now possibly you understand these 6 words were excellent advice for

Naropa, and upaya, or expediency, at a certain juncture.

Tilopa also hit Naropa on the head with a Sandal, and he went into

Samadhi, so yes, it is beyond words.

Is there really any argument here?

I say let Nis sum it up then, because you all got it bassackwards.

It is not what you do, but what you stop doing that matters.

Gosh, thanks, I think I'm going to stop quoting others who give

advice, as even a kind of way of giving advice myself, or saying that

others are wrong.

In fact stopping posting in internet forums is an excellent idea for

me. Woops, rest, now, what idea?

Joe: When I say " you just show up like all the rest of the stuff " I

mean the thought-cluster, image-cluster that most of us call by our

names. If you are talking about something else when you say you,

the " BIG YOU " then I want to ask: Since when have you been able to

describe it?To get to know it? It is dark darkness. It is not

everything because everything is the known. Z

argument?

none!

that sandal Tilopa used to slam Naropa's head was a special:

a Designer Stuart Weitzman calls them " CINDERELLA SLIPPERS " and why

not the hefty price tag of the sandals is meant for deserving

celebrities or queens from fairy tails who can afford to drop $2

million, earning the pride in return for owing the world's most

expensive sandals.

Designer aims at delivering fantasy sandals and this one fits his

collection. Tall as 4½-inch, these stiletto sandals are encrusted with

565 platinum-set Kwiat diamonds including 55 carats of clear diamonds

along with a huge 5-carat stone.

...if Niropa didn't go into Samadhi with that,

laughing his head off...

there'd never be a more respectable moment...

nor repeatable.

life's beautiful that way..

and unique!

it's hard to find a comparable.

Done!

as it always has been...

as it is being done now...

and...

as it always will be doing.

until.....

time drops out along with the doer and the done-ee.

that's already done and the case by any matters or minds.

christus is born!
