Guest guest
Everything that we witness in our life is totally unique and fresh and innocent. It comes and goes, it is here and then it is gone. When - as a little experiment - we ask ourselves where our thoughts come from, we notice that they are not ours. We close our eyes for one minute, and just try to 'catch' a thought as soon as it comes up. We try to 'catch' our thoughts as soon as possible, if we can. Where do these thoughts come from? Are they really 'our' thoughts? Are we 'producing' them ourselves, or are they just appearing in our awareness, like clouds that appear in the sky? When we look carefully, we witness that they emerge, seemingly from nowhere, and rise up, have their show-time, and then recede to nothing. They come from infinity and go back to infinity. The infinite is all there is, and as a consequence the rules or standards that our minds would set up for any kind of awakening simply do not apply. There is no-one to prepare for liberation, as there is no-one to be liberated. There are no rules because there is no real path. No conditions are required prior to awakening. We are talking here about an awakening - not as an event or a state of mind - but as an energy, and even that word can become misleading. It is simply Universal Energy, in the sense that it is the source of all. This energy is all-encompassing, neutral and impersonal. It is totally disinterested in what is apparently going on for an illusory body-mind machine
