Guest guest
Kernighan and Ritchie invented the C language. His books serve as the reference manual and other author writing on C refer to Kernighan and Ritchie to clear their doubts and to verify their understanding. Yet, when I started learning C language by reading Kernighan and Ritchie books, I got immensely frustrated. I thought, I was never going to be able to learn C language. I thought either I have no comprehension or, the authors are total dorks. I read few other books on C language and learned it fairly well. After learning C language to some extent, I returned to reading the book by Kernighan and Ritchie again and was awe-stuck by its elegance, efficiency, accurateness and its economy of expression. I thought, this was the only book I will ever read. I finally understood why not only students but, also so many teachers and authors go ga-ga over this book : http://cm.bell-labs.com/cm/cs/cbook/ > > PS: Ramana is not for 'beginners'. Read him now, and, you might totally understand him. http://www.poonja.com/Ramana.htm
