Guest guest
Often when talk of " nothing is real " starts up, someone will say something like " wish I could kick you in the shin, then you'd see what's real. " Or " The cat box sure smells real when I clean it! " But wait, something strange is afoot: Why is a kick in the shin more " real " than a light tickle? Why does the cat box smell more real than the air? How can there be degrees of real, aren't things either real or unreal? If you happen to get a whiff of that cat box and it smells REAL, it's because it makes you FEEL more real. Now tell me truthfully: How the hell would you be able to feel MORE real if you were ALREADY real? Something real can't get any realer, right? There are degrees of 'real' to the way you feel because you are not there at all, but instead a bunch of rapid-fire thoughts and sensations are occurring that create the illusion as if " I am me. " The faster the thoughts, the stronger the sensations (hot pepper anyone?) the more real you seem. There's a clue what this ego that is you might look like. A place to start with self-inquiry, if you prefer. Peace...
