Core training is designed to harness and deepen your leadership ability to work with others in a life enhancing way through the integration of psychodrama methods. This Program is offered Myocum to create and nurture a group of psychodrama practitioners. ‘The psychodrama method is based on the idea of highly motivated human beings acting the aspirations and deepest concerns of the society or subculture or small group in which they live.' The first Byron Bay Core Training group was held in 2005. The training group operates on an ongoing cycle with trainees enrolling and committing to a year of training at a time. The group combines trainees with different levels of psychodrama and life experience in the same group. This engenders a rich culture that enables a diverse work group to form for the benefit of all. As well as attending the formal program, trainees form peer psychodrama groups of 4 - 6 to practice and experiment with the method in a safe and contained way. Core training uses a graduated and recursive learning cycle in order to deepen and integrate the learning in practice. The comprehensive curriculum covers a four-year period. This enables the development of knowledge-in-action. Certification requires supervision in the application of psychodrama in a range of different settings and with different groups, examination in a practicum and several written papers. Other training experiences Psychodrama trainees are encouraged to attend a range of psychodrama groups. A five-day residential program will be offered 1 - 5 October.
