Guest guest
I've read I am that and The ultimate medicine, but I'm not sure if I've drawn the right conclusions from them. To me it seems like what Nisargadatta describes as the absolute (parabrahman) is just nothingness. A timeless, spaceless state - at least that's how I would describe nothingness. If this is not the case, please explain to me how this absolute state differs from nothingness. To be honest, I have come to view his teachings as a clever way to help people accept that there's nothing except this life for us. This is of course perfectly logical, and ironically enough this would be a system of belief even an atheist could to. Guest guest
Adam, The absolute is nothingness. It is a good pointer...but only a pointer. Spaceless is not an adjective I would use...the absolute contains all things...like space. Really, it is not space nor spaceless. Don't use the mind to grasp the absolute...the mind can not grasp it. Asking how things differ is a function of the mind. The absolute has no other...so there is not anything else to be different from. " I have come to view his teachings as a clever way to help people accept that there's nothing except this life for us " You are that absolute. This life is part of the dream...the teaching is a pointer to the Self.
