Iietsa,

Who is identifying with thinking, Who is that ?

Are there two iietsas ? One is thinking and the other is identifying

with it ?

Or is there only thinking which already is the identification and

there is no one who is identifying with thought ?

There is no one at home, there is no thinker, iietsa, there is only

thinking.

When thinking is causing strong emotions it is called identifcation.

When thought is causing no emotions it is just called thinking.

Can you see and accept that ?

> when one involves with thought...one is caught...

Who is caugtht ? There is no one at home, iietsa, no one who can get

caught or not to get caught

There is no one at home, iiesta, no one who can get dragged down. It

is thought which is accompanied by strong emotions which the next

following thought calls it to be " dragged down " . One thought is

calling the previous thought being drgagged down. Can you see and

accept that ?

And no one is at home, iietsa. Never was at home, never is, and never

will be at home.

Werner,

Would you agree with me that perhaps iietsa (as well as all of us)

could benefit from a little bit of Rational Emotive Therapy?

that all depends on what your definition of 'benefit' is.

also, on what your definition of the word 'iietsa' is.

he's not there.. see?

if you see he's not there..

you cannot see that he IS there even if he's not.

he's never where you think..

or don't think..

or even where he thinks

he is or isn't..

because he's not.

he told me so.

in a stone sober fashion.

mayhap he wasn't.

he really needs not then any therapeutic remedy.

he merely needs to get and stay dry.

Hi Rob,

Are there two Robs ? One is thinking disorderly and irrational and

the onther one will bring order into that mess, eventually by therapy

or by whatsoever ?

There is no one at home, Rob.

Werner,

The lights are on at home and I see a pile of clutter inside. It

looks like whoever lives here needs help cleaning it up.

It can't be cleaned up just once and then forgotten about. It needs

constant attention or else the clutter will continue to pile up.

I like my mind to have as little clutter as possible. To help with

that, I rid it of irrational thoughts as much as I can. Sometimes I

need help from outside sources, such as RET and Advaita Vedanta.

Irrational thoughts lead to irrational emotions and to irrational

behaviour. Therefore, a little " house cleaning " helps to keep most of

the " dust bunnies " away.

There is only one Rob. There is only one me. One with a cluttered

mind and the same one with an uncluttered mind at different periods

of time.

I live in a world in which there are three dimensions and with all of

the mind-body problems associated with it. To deny them is sin. To

address them is not sin.

Rob,

Who decides what is irrational and rational thinking ? Who is that,

who claims his point of view being rational ? It is thought, isn't

it ?

It is again thought which denoted previous thoughts as rational or

irrational. And in addition these thoughts use the words " I " or " me " .

They are telling to be you, can you see that ?

But there is no one at home. There are only thoughts being in

conflict with each other, an the most interesting thing is that each

thought believes it is transporting " truth " . And already the next

thought claims the truth of that previous thought as irrational.

There is no one at home, Rob. There is only this endless circus and

game all these thoughts are playing.

Btw, thoughts are only created by the brain to eventually get

communicated. They are all verbal. Loud thoughts are called speaking

and without voice they are called thinking.

Did you know that all decisions the mind is making are getting

conscious half a second later when they already are made ? And that

means there is no one at home consciously making decisions - no free

choice, no free will and no free decision. All that happens before

they get conscious.

Then who is that who claims to work for ratioal and healthy

thinking ? It is thought which does all that ... thought is a liar

and cheater.

Are " You " all that ?

well that's a thought but it's wrong.

> It is again thought which denoted previous thoughts as rational or

> irrational. And in addition these thoughts use the words " I " or " me " .

..... " these thoughts use the words " I " or " me " .???!!!!

the words don't 'use' anything wrener.

words are just words.

don't be so anthropomorphic..

you're being silly here chumbo.

> They are telling to be you, can you see that ?

hopefully for him he doesn't let himself so abuse himself with..

trying to see how thoughts are telling him anything.

there is no one to tell anything to wernie.

and besides..words cannot 'tell' anyone anything.

jeeeze wernie..get real.

>

> But there is no one at home. There are only thoughts being in

who's thoughts do you refer to?

so thoughts are 'real' things that 'are'..

and everything else is illusion?

do they have mental facilities where you live?

they may be of more aid to you than the words that are emlpoying you..

to speak this nonsense(because as you say, obviously you aren't here).

those bastard words are out to get you there wernie.

And already the next

> thought claims the truth of that previous thought as irrational.

that's as irrational as it gets.

but who the hell cares?

who is there to care?

no one's home if i recall.

> There is no one at home, Rob. There is only this endless circus and

> game all these thoughts are playing.

what is it with your adoration of thoughts?

you treat thoughts as if they are substantial.

they are not.

thoughts are not 'playing', 'telling', or doing anything.

that's just a dumb, unscientific notion of yours.

or is it those thoughts themselves MAKING you spout this crap?

give it a rest wernie..

no matter how many times you raise that stupid flag..

no one is going to be stupid enough to salute.

but you can still be pretend smart.

that's cute and everyone gets a kick out of it.

>

> Btw, thoughts are only created by the brain to eventually get

the brain 'creates' nothing.

what's the matter with you anyway?

They are all verbal. Loud thoughts are called speaking

> and without voice they are called thinking.

oh christ this is too stupid top even comment on!

> Did you know that all decisions the mind is making are getting

> means there is no one at home consciously making decisions - no free

that's just thought screwing with you wernie..

you aren't there to scrutinize and decide that what thoughts are

saying is stupid

..well you aren't there to see that it's stupid.

so baba won't blame the unreal werner..just his dumb thinking..

both his silent thinking and his loud thinking..LOL!

well werner..

are you all the ridiculous things thought makes you out to be?

if your thoughts are telling you all this stupid stuff..

REMEMBER:

'thought'(the all of all that is)..

is a liar and a cheater.

your thoughts on the above matters included.

can't you see that?

you might have read some book and somehow lifted some lines out of it

iiesta,

You could have asked the same question to Maharaj. He had to teach

the way he had to and in no way he could act differently than he did.

Every on ticks the way his system demands him tick.

Very simple,

My body mind is talking to an image or projecion of a cyber person

appearing on the screen for example as Dan Ananda.

Or do you believe there sits a little green man at a control terminal

inside my body/mind and steering the whole thing ?

Dan,

When Niz taught " you never were born " and you are the child of a

barren woman, then to whom was he talking when people guethered

around him ?

Exactly! I was wondering the same thing. If Niz claims there is no one

home, then, who was he talking to? Was no one talking to no one?

Possibly.

I see the group is as feisty as ever. I remember this as the place

you could always find a good street fight if yer up for it....or down

with it, whatever. With any luck, Werner won't remember me, but a

weird thought has been running through my head as I follow this

conversation. Though he may have his own spin on it, what he's saying

is the same thing every nondual and Advaita teacher I've ever

stumbled across says, and so where's the beef? You can't get in

Nizzy's face about it but surely we can come up with a long list of

breathing gurus who will testify that the human is a mere expression

of the Divinity that you are; a collection of conditioned responses

reacting spontaneously to thoughts and feelings arising without any

volition.

It's not especially ego friendly but that's the whole danged point,

isn't it? I might have missed sumthin but it sounds like the whole

idea that you're not really a person is just laughable. Did I miss

sumthin? It's not very difficult to notice that the whole idea of

personhood is laughable. An individual has nothing else on which to

base it's reactions but it's past experience, and that also applies

to it's past experience. This is supposed to turn ones attention to

the source of those thoughts which clearly arise spontaneously

without your approval. What's forming them thar thoughts? Or is self

inquiry also a controversial topic these days?

you can give me any name...I dont bother...

you can try to imprison me in words...I dont care...

you can show me the signs you worship...I will pass...

what is lovable to you is nothing to me...

your wisdom is fooling you to melt out or into what you are not...

....as I have told you before...I am nothing and you are nothing...

if this is (your) point all is (well)...

but if you take me for a somebody then that is a spell living a lie...
