Rob,

Ego, ego, ego ...

It is a myth that ego and it does not exist. There is no such a thing

as a ego.

But there is the survival instinct arround which are guethered all

those reactions, impulses and strategies which will help the

organsims to survive.

And because this bundle of survival strategies has the same

background, SURVIVAL, the idea or the concept of an ego was created

to give all those survival strategies a common origin. But the ego is

just a metaphor, a more or less helpless explanation what is the

drive behind all those survival impulses.

There is no ego which thinks or acts, Rob.

There is only this bundle of experiences engraved as memory, all

those conditioned reflexes and reactions, which have a common goal -

to sustain survival.

There is no one at home within and arround, neither below or above

all that multitiude of survival strategies and impulses.

Ego is an old myth but it does not exist.

Werner,

Awesome! Thank You! You've given me so much to think about here. Wow.

Now, this all sounds like U.G. Krishnamurti's stuff. Am I right? I

baba thinks it's l. ron hubbard stuff.

man tom cruise loves that dead guy!

of course they are both nonexistent egos trying to survive.

and no one really 'thinks' about this stuff.

there are only the thoughts about this stuff...

and thoughts about the thinkers of this stuff that isn't really there.

ask the nonexistent wernie for confirmation.

:-)

You are welcome, Rob,

Yes, I am indeed a fan of UG and I have two things in common with

him - I have long white hairs and I do not offer any carrots. You

know all those " Do this and you will gain that " , " Follow me and you

will gain heavens " .

This " nobody home " is the very core of Niz's teaching or message. But

strangely enough, this Maharaj list here is attracting lots of

positivists, Disneylanders who dream of enlightenment, cosmic

consciousness, of bliss and all that other childish rubbish.
