The Wisdom of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

" The real does not die, the unreal never lived. Set your mind right

and all will be right. When you know that the world is one, that

humanity is one, you will act accordingly. But first of all you must

attend to the way you feel, think and live. Unless there is order in

yourself, there can be no order in the world. "

A Net of Jewels

Ramesh S. Balsekar

June 20

When the divine relationship between the guru as Consciousness and the

disciple as Consciousness becomes ripe enough to fructify, they meet

like two empty mirrors facing each other.

Hi Anna,

It was this passage which I called nonsense:

" When the divine relationship between the guru as Consciousness and

the disciple as Consciousness becomes ripe enough to fructify, they

meet like two empty mirrors facing each other " .

Hmmm. Werner. I can only say... Hmmm. The empty mirror is indeed a

frightening thing for most folks.

No Anna,

For heaven's sake please - consciousness is not a mirror.

Consciousnesss IS its content - without content, no consciousness.

There is no such a thing as a pure and emtpty consciousness.

Consciousness IS its content.

In the last time I have explained again and again the same thing. A

pity that don't you read my posts.

Anna, a poet also got the ability to learn something new, to throw

away all that old crap which came down to us from millennia,

like " pure consciousness " etc.

Can you think for a monent about this ?

"When the divine relationship between the guru as Consciousness and thedisciple as Consciousness becomes ripe enough to fructify, they meetlike two empty mirrors facing each other."E: IMO This can be put in context, if we assume, that Balsekar meant, that the guru held no "opinion" on his mind looking at the disciple: he was 'empty', and when a disciple reaches a state of 'emptiness' <no stance> they can "meet like two empty mirrors" something like: http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o3/era4/bu/maitreya_face_to_face.jpg

Consciousness is both the mirror and its content... it is you seeing

me through your eyes and mu seeing you through my eyes. Since we can

not really *see* one other in this internet venue nor can we

filter/sort out all the physical nuances, we are left with words

written across the computer screen. We assimilate them based on our

experience of being who we are with all its myriad *impersonations,

impersonalizations, provocations, invocations and personifications* we

have experienced.

Awareness, however, is that which simultaneously sees what is before

it. *It* being the ever-fleeting *beingness* with which we have

become *identified*.

Yes. I do read you posts... always have. And I've never dismissed

them...

Light,

Anna
