A Certain Sadness

When the doors open and one prepares to step out into the vastness of

the unknown-unknowable.......a certain sadness descends.

One is leaving behind all the memories that have represented love,

security and the sense of being.

One is literally dying to the world of things.

No longer are those beautiful grandbabies yours.

You no longer own your house.

Your old friend's faces loose their definition.

As the day and insights flow together......you are pulled into the

flowing-moment of all-that-is........never to return.

As the known words receded from the mind.........even the sadness

evaporates in the enveloping-awareness.

There are....in essence.......two worlds.

One is composed entirely of reflections.

The other is the bottomless-depth upon which the reflections occur.

One is the conceptual dream that arises within the sensory perceptions

of human beings.

The other is the emptiness out of which the dream of separation spins

its isolated-self.

The person here is merely a tiny cog in the Magnus Machina.....As is

the person there.....They react in the only way they can.

When the machinery here sees another has been wounded simply for

disagreeing on an obscure spiritual speculation.....it reacts.

You say that you were offering a teaching lesson.

I say that you were fearful and angry and banned a very wise and

gentle member simply because she stood up to you.

You never read enough of what was offered to hear what she was saying.

Maybe you never will.

It will be your loss.

There was a lot learned from your exercise......but what was learned

pertains only to the self-serving reactions of an illusory identified

entity and such actions only create more confusion and anger in a

world already bleeding to death.

I hope that you stick around after you turn over the ownership of the

list.....I would learn a lot from that.

:-)

Not quite, Toomb,

The nucleus of the self is not separation but the need to control.

Control already starts intrauterinally when for example the fetus is

kicking and changig its position because something is hurting.

Hurt and pain and therefore the need to control is creating the self

but not separation. Which means the creation of a self already is

starting in the uterus by physical neccssities.

Separation between the controller and the controlled is an

unavoidable result.

Maybe thats why kids love soccer. Kicking is one of the first things

they have learned :)

To realize that the universe, one's actions, one's reactions, and the

other-as-OneSelf IS/AS the play of life itself, is to be

simultaneously in bliss and in sorrow.

No one can help being who one is. We already know who one is not.

And that's what hurts sometimes.

Puppies struggle in the womb.....yet no sense self emerges.

It is within the conceptual overlay that occurs only in the mind of

homo sapiens that the sense of being a separate self emerges.

All of life struggles.....only one life form struggles against its own

delusional dream.

What race? The HUMAN race, of course!

Smile. You're on candid camera.

Love makes it all right. Alright?

P: P: Stick with the metaphor of the bottomless

and reflections. Reflections can't be wounded.

Although your brain has seen the void, it's

still moved by reflections. You cannot credibly

talk the talk, unless you walk the walk.

Defending the feelings of reflections is not

void cool. Soak in the void until you chill.

you master waves.

No puppets, human beings, Toomb. Ok, still without a bank account,

but already an organism capable of learning and so creating a nucleus

of that which was learned.

And it is this learning via success and via defeat, for example how

to kick the right way to end some physical irritation, which then

created the " kicker " .

The kicker is not an entity but the memorizing of what the fetus has

leanred.

We are all swirling within this consensus dream of separation.

Even though some believe they have attained a superior position in the

dream....they haven't.....no one is in the void.

Those who are programmed to believe they " understand " what its all

about are as deluded as the rest.

They are as much a part of the dream as those they pretend to teach.

A few are able to see that they ARE the dream.....beyond which nothing is.

They have no desire to teach for one very good reason.

One who believes that waves can be mastered will never be an

accomplished surfer.

A sense of kindness appropriate to one's understanding of the nature

of the dream.

Oh....you're not so tough.

You ARE attachment.

See that and watch what happens.

All sentient beings learn and perfect survival skills.

Only the mind of man creates an imaginary world from which it

struggles to escape.

P: OK, if you truly know there is only

one dream. Then, you are an idiot to

be upset by your dream characters. See my

story below " The Day I Thanked Nis. "

The Day I Thanked Nis

By Pete

The dismal alley stank of sewage and garbage. As I approached

the house, a stray dog slunk away, its eyes full of fear. It was

an emaciated young dog, almost a puppy. Stray dogs don't grow

old in Bombay. I gave a sigh of relief as I entered the narrow

stairwell smelling of dust and cheap incense. Going up, the

steps groaned menacingly under my weight.

In a small second floor room sat an old man dressed in white.

The massive head with prominent cheekbones seemed

misplaced on his frail body. The moment I entered, he opened

his eyes and stared at me without surprise, or any hint of inquiry.

The eyes dwarfed the head, as the head did the body. From then

on, I only saw the piercing eyes, as if, disembodied, they floated

in the room's penumbra. After my salutation, he gestured toward

a cushion.

" Where do you come from? " he asked.

" I come from the future. "

He laughed, and his chest rumbled with phlegm. The laugh

sputtered, and then, exploded into a fitful cough.

" I have no future. " he said in a strangled voice.

" Your words do. In the future your words will be read by millions.

They will liberate hundreds of people. "

" They are not my words, and I'm not interested in those imaginary

hundreds. Have those words liberated you? "

" Yes, they have, and I thank you. "

He laughed again, but cut it short and clearing his throat with a

painful grimace, said, " If you were truly liberated, would there be

any need to thank someone who never existed? "

Now was my turn to laugh. " Yes, I see what you mean. That would

be the only way liberation could work. To liberate one individual at

a time is a hopeless task. Once the dreamer awakes, all the dream

characters are seen as unreal. "

" Nevertheless, you are still trying to awaken the characters in the

dream, " he said.

" Yes, I am. Does it mean that I'm not awake yet? "

" You are dreaming that you are awake, the dream still goes on. "

" But wait, you are fully awake and you still teach. "

" I exist and teach only in your dream. "

" So, when will the dream end? "

" The day the body dies. "

" You mean I had no need to study and meditate all these years

that I could have had any dream I wanted? "

" No. There is no 'you' apart from the dream, and there is no

other dream, but this one. "

" Well, If I am the dream, I will that you get well, and live as long

as I do. "

He laughed and began to cough again. " Get out, " he yelled. " You're

an idiot. Get out. Out! "

His cough echoed behind me as I hurried downstairs.

The entity IS the upsetness.

It gets angry......its is wired to be lustful.....sometimes it gets

frightened....and lonely.

It is a program.

It is allowed to " do " what it is programmed to do.

Only now the person that used to take credit for all that action is

almost gone.
