Life is suffering. He was right!

But his solution takes too long.

Take the shortcut. Become a

masochist. That's the only way

a life of suffering is fun.

Now, I have no idea how one

becomes a masochist. Don't tell me,

practice! LOL

suffering continues but no longer is there a sufferer.

that's truly funny.

i'd tell you how to be here but i'd have to kill you first.

digging what the joke is..is murder daddyo.

it's obvious you know nothing of Buddhism.

that comes straight from it's heart dummy.

you keep looking for something to be gained in enlightenment.

there is nothing gained in supreme enlightenment.

that's why it's called supreme enlightenment.

that comes straight from Gautama.

the reason there is nothing gained?

there isn't anyone to gain anything.

go back to basics kid.

P: No. You can read Zen anecdotes till you

go blind and never find a case of a master

kissing a disciple. Well not in the Zendo,

anyway. At night, who knows? Orientals are

not as square about sex as Christians. ;))

A kiss, if unexpected, can be as shocking as

a slap, but it has an undertone of approval

or desire. A slap is, always, a sign of rebuke.

It's been my opinion that Zen tends to be aggressive anyway, so I would

not be at all surprised if you find no masters kissing disciples. What

they do in private though might be another matter entirely. ;)

Of course though, I was referring to a kiss as a metaphor for gentler

forms of love and compassion, which can often be just as, if not more

so, effective as means of persuasion than the more aggressive approach,

Jesus the Christ being a notable example of the gentler form.

P: Yes, the slap is a metaphor too, for

a direct approach to blind spots.

A skillful teacher uses both depending

on the student and the situation. Here,

on line serious methodical teaching is

impossible since we see only hastily sketched

opinions. So, we rarely pin the tail on the donkey,

and only shove each other around mainly for fun.
