Guest guest
The right brain is uneducated, but it's the right (proper) brain to use if one seeks light, creativity, beauty, happiness, and bliss. The right brain is the moon, the left brain is the sun. That is the right metaphor to use not only because the moon in Buddhism symbolizes realization, but because the sun hides moon and stars with its light. Experiments had shown that when the left brain activity is blocked by a strong magnetic field applied to that side, the subjects of the experiment are able to paint better, and remember more accurately. Chimps have photographic memories and do better than people in memory tests. It's thinking and language which hides right brain enlightenment from us. The right parietal lobe is the seat of all enlightenment experiences, as proved by that neurologist that had a stroke and revealed in utube her hemorrhagic realization. But you don't need to bleed, just sit and shut up. Meditation which curtails thought might be a way to free our right brain from left brain servitude. Some patients reported remarkable improvement with TMS. " One day it was like a light switch went off, " said Steve Newman, 60, of Washington, D.C., who enrolled in the NeuroStar study at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. Newman had suffered repeated bouts of depression since he was a teenager, and drug after drug barely blunted it. He was considering shock therapy when he heard about TMS. After two weeks of treatment, Newman was wondering if he was getting the sham when suddenly he started feeling a lot better and doctors spotted a corresponding major improvement in his depression measurements. " I was awake. I was there, " said Newman, who still gets what he calls a " maintenance dose " of TMS about once a month. .... > > Experiments had shown that when the > left brain activity is blocked by a > strong magnetic field applied to that > side, the subjects of the experiment > are able to paint better, and remember > more accurately.
