Recently Steve Toth, a friend & poet, wrote the following poem and posted it to Poetry Chaikhana Teahouse. YOU ARE 3 You are the one whose incantations arouse irrational emotions You are the one who dispenses with the dictionary meanings of words stripping away whatever snags are impeding the transmission of the essential vision You are the one who follows each exhale wherever it goes You are the one with the catchy eyes You are the one You are the one who lets verbal associations bridge the gap of loneliness between people You are the one who utters things ordinarily suppressed by the censor of the conscious mind You are the one who knows language is tricky enough without obscuring it up You are the one giving your best performance prepared to keep nothing for yourself You are the one If enough people think of you as a poet will you eventually become the poet they think you are all put together? Where are you going my gone ones? I care for everybody that's going through hell Let not your hearts be beaten down You are the only one who knows what I am really saying You are the one Steve Toth Yup, usually we say: *I am the One*... ~Anna

It does not include one's interrelatedness. You are related to the postman, to the lady in the supermarket, to the dog peeing at your car, to a child smiling at you etc, etc. And all those I might enumerate one is related to again are related to others, and they too, and they too, and they too .... Can't it be that the motivation to again and again stress that everything just happens in one's head and that others don't exist is just an escape to face one's vulnerability to get hurt by those " others " ? Shedding tears would reveal your dependency on someone else, wouldn't it ? " Boys don't cry " is the wellknown demand from parents who don't want to get confronted with their own vulnerability. The denial of all and everything and at the same time establishing the image of a Superman, as Nietzsche did, is the typical escapism found in existentialism not to get confronted with one's dependencies and with one's vulnerability.
