Dear Toombaru

While truely abiding in the 'I am' a question of being serious or non-serious doesn't exist.

Everything matters, Bob,

Each thought, each spoken word, each step you make does matter. You

cannot avoid it.

Matter stems from Lating " Mater " = Mother.

Throwing a stone into a pond will give birth to waves.

" Nothing matters " is the philosophy of escapists who believe in the

security of total isolation. But that belief is just the escape from

the confrontation with their ever present vulnerability.

Never realized it, Bob ?

The more you clamp to nihilism, the more you are haunted by the

nightmare of your own reality.

there is nothing to realize.

there is no one to realize anything.

that's hardly a nightmare.

whereas what you imagine..

is incubus itself.

Dear Toombaru

There are no questions in the 'I am' nor is it a matter of long or short as there is no time there.

" I am " exists only in the presence of " the other " .

It is the conceptual dream of separation.

The " I am " is an overlay that the conceptual mind imagines describes

its personal reality.

It has an " i am " .........and an " I AM " .

........just me and God.....

It makes a neat little package but is essentially meaningless.

Nisargadatta spoke of the Ultimate Reality......beyond the I am.

He said nothing could be said about it.

I have no idea how " I am " .

Whatever that is keeps changing.

:-)

" Separations " exist only in the conceptual mind.

For it.......it is a nightmare when it gets a glimpse up its own skirt.

When it dawns that " things " have no separate reality.......the only

logical conclusion is that the holder of thing simply does not exist.

And for the sense of self........that's scary as hell.

Dear toombaru,

Then let us do what Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj said and not say anyrhing further, as you have correctly said, it would be essentially meaningless.

you should know the Whatever this Isn't.

No faces of silence or expression either one.

Whatever it is, it isn't what you think.

the only self that can know the what is not, is the no self.

all the rest is window dressing for dreamers.
