They exist only in relationship, and they appear co-dependently. So all things are empty of independent substance, or existence. That doesn't mean they don't have relative existence, and we can ignore a speeding truck heading our way. The primary relationship is that of consciousness and the universe. No universe, no consciousness. No consciousness, no universe. >

Guest guest
identity of light is the lamp & source of light is electricity. does the lamp exist? the light indicates that lamp exists, it is obvious. lamp is connected to the electricity which produces light. without the light electricity would not have been known and without the lamp the light would not have been known and without electricity both light & lamp would not have been known. they are inseperable they exist as one. reality is it exists in waking state as one which has an identity (aware) & in deep sleep state as one without an identity (unaware). The waking state gets dissolved in a deep sleep state where existence is there not as a seperate identity as a lamp but purely as light, you become the source itself, eternal. -mahesh dennis_travis33 <dennis_travis33Nisargadatta Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2009 1:52:17 AM Re: The Funniest Thing Nisargadatta, "toombaru2006" <lastrain@.. .> wrote:>> > > > So.......... .....It finally dawns that there are no things......> > ............ that no separate, distinct thing exists anywhere in the> universe.> > > And along with that comes the understanding that if things do not> exist....... ...the holder of things also has no existential reality.....> ......and that the other holders of things simply are not out there.> > > And what you thought of as you......... ...continues to speak to the> perceived others about their essential emptiness as if both you and> they actually existed..... ......... ....and the new you thing sees the> irony in that........ ...> > It also sees that it is "doing" the only thing it can....and so are the> perceived others...... .and begins to wonder what it is going to eat> for breakfast.> > > > > toombaru>there is nobody who could be satisfied with any breakfastthere is nobody who could be unsatisfied with any breakfastbetween satisfaction and unsatisfaction is the space for an imaginary someone..... .means, an emotional bubble.....coming and going.....for no special reason.........bbb found the right words to the subject.....Marc

Guest guest
neither the light nor its source the electricity are imaginary, they are real but it never gets identified. Only the lamp gets identified, its brand, its make & its brightness. without the light the lamp has no existence, it will be an imaginary entity. focus on light you will move towards its source, focus on lamp & you will move towards its brand, make & its brightness which will wither with time. - mahesh dennis_travis33 <dennis_travis33Nisargadatta Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2009 2:07:14 PM Re: The Funniest Thing Nisargadatta, Mahesh Kamat <mv.kamat@.. .> wrote:>> identity of light is the lamp & source of light is electricity. does the lamp exist? the light indicates that lamp exists, it is obvious. lamp is connected to the electricity which produces light. without the light electricity would not have been known and without the lamp the light would not have been known and without electricity both light & lamp would not have been known. they are inseperable they exist as one. reality is it exists in waking state as one which has an identity (aware) & in deep sleep state as one without an identity (unaware). (.b b.b.) what makes the light or electricity more " real " than anything else? (Mahesh) Only the lamp gets identified, its brand, its make & its brightness. *.b b.b.) General Electric right? 150 watt? incandescent yes? (Mahesh) without the light the lamp has no existence, it will be an imaginary entity. Guest guest
till i see myself as an individual object i will live in a perceptive world created of my own in which everything appears as dual- body/mind, desire/content, good/bad, like/dislike, fit/ill, god/devil, knowledge/ignorance, birth/death etc. individual object & perceptive world are strongly bonded to each other & they disappear when so called death occurs. individual identity emerged when i took birth & perceptive world gradually started flashing before me with each thought appearing as memory/inference with the result of conditioning/conceptualization. i see everything existing as a bundle of conditioned thoughts, as an illusion in nothing. -mahesh dennis_travis33 <dennis_travis33Nisargadatta Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2009 9:25:10 PM Re: The Funniest Thing Nisargadatta, Mahesh Kamat <mv.kamat@.. .> wrote:>> neither the light nor its source the electricity are imaginary, they are real but it never gets identified.
