Guest guest
Wow! That's a long subject handle (sorry). And thanks to Bill, and Gary for the inspiration for this tremendous post! Does Bill understand that trust, or the lack of it is based only on opinions about the other, and, of course, on oxytocin levels? Leaving oxytocin aside, there can be no trust ( or lack of) without opinions about the person trusted, or mistrusted. Even when a stranger asks for change to eat, we evaluate that request and form an instant opinion regarding the person's trustworthiness. So, when Bill wants to feel trust, but thinks opinions stink, he shows confusion about what both words mean. Then, he asks, how he's doing with his enlightenment work. Well, that's an unknown, no one can tell. This is a flea market only populated by blind merchants and shoplifters. The shoplifters, of course, are the lurkers. We don't know from whom they are shoplifting, nor what items they are taking, if any. They never tell. So, we, merchants, discuss, and fuzz over our wares in vain. We have a grand time arguing over the merits of one item, or another, but we seldom buy from each other. Yet, we rarely fail to show up at the fair, and set up our stalls. We love to showcase our wares and to haggle with each other over goods no one buys. We all know what to do, but postpone doing it. We are leaky boats that fight the inevitable. We know the peace we seek awaits in the deep, but refuse the gift of silent darkness. We love to fly our flag a little longer in the glaring light, and the stormy wind. We dread the immutable we seek, we are leaky boats that refuse to sink. Speaking on behalf of Bill, I must say that I don't think he understands much at all. I say that because have been noticing the constant drooling... and a bother to clean up. But thanks, I'll pass along your regards. The-Other-Guy > > So, when Bill wants to feel trust, but thinks > opinions stink, he shows confusion about what > both words mean.
