it's ass backwards.

what you believe to be other than yourself IS yourself.

what you believe to be yourself is other than your self.

what you believe to be yourself..

is the always other that can only be unknown.

no matter how bright " you " are...

no matter how clever the cognitive device employed..

as long as there is a you..

there is error.

you don't recognize the more than obvious.

you believe in yourself if nothing else.

it's impossible but...

you are not.

don't settle for less.

..b b.b.

If there is a that..there is this... and the mirror circus is up.

In the book " I AM THAT " Nisargadatta Maharaj is quoted as saying " It took me

only three years to realize my true nature. " His supposed " dharma heir " ,Sailor

Bob and co,apparently, are claming that you don´t need time to realize your

" true nature " .Any comments?

Atagrasin

You don't have a true nature.

toombaru

Wait a minute. This does not answer his question.

Then I ask you: you need time to realize that you dont have a true nature?

-geo-

Good question, " Geo " .Sailor Bob,answered the question " What is ,to realizing

itself " in this way:

" The innate intelligence [the sense of presence or the knowing that you are] is

the essence of everything that appear and dissapears, but to the mind is

nothing.Realize that you are aware of presence right now, of being present. You

know that you are. What did you have to do for that to happens. It spontaneously

arises. It is constantly spontaniously always and ever arrising. "

And from Maharaj:

" To realize your " true nature " you must first investigate and know what your are

not. "

Nisargadatta Maharaj seems to agree with Ramana about self inquiry and if my

interpretation is correct, this [the inquiry], take time and in some way a

practice, or if you dont like this word call it, a " no practice " .

Sailor Bob " diciple " , John Wheeler, wrote, " There is no answer to the question

" how do I " realize " my true nature " . The question presupposes you are not that

and that you need some technique [time] " to be " what you are " .

[Please note how freely Wheeler, interchange or use the verb " to be " as a

synonymous of the word, " realization " ].Then he write, " All the path or

approaches based on gradual arrival are false " .

For Nisargadatta Maharaj, " realization of his " true nature " took, for him [in

his own words],3 years [gradual arrival].That mean that his approach is false?

What Maharaj really meant by the words, " realization of my true nature took me

only three years " ?

Of course we can not speculate about another's ëxperience " .

Here is my take. Investigate deeply, as deeply as you are able. You will

have insights.

What counts is the depth of your insights -they are cummulative. Dont be

concerned

with eventual gradual changes the body/mind may need to undergo.

Go as deep as you are able. Again and again. No need to cross your legs.

Who am I? What am I? What was I before i was born? Is the one that was

before

I was born here now?......etc.......etc......etc.....

Time is not involved in being aware.

And indeed, there is no true nature to be aware of.

Just what is so.

True nature and being aware are one and the same

apparently two and then say they " are " one... ouch...

The conceptual world is the reflections on the surface.

The Resolution lies deeper.

The words of anyone......taken out of context.....are essentially meaningless.

Maharaj was speaking to a unique set of circumstances that arose and subsided

within a particular moment.

Don't take anything a sage says too literally.

Don't try to stack shadows too high.

As you read the one with whom you resonate.......flashes will occur.........

Let them go.....Don't try to hold them......They've already done their work.

Questions will arise.....If their answer does not appear......let them go......

.....circumstances will collide further down the journey that will destroy their

relevance.

With persistence...and focus....the flashes begin to overlap and a whole new

world appears.

It is the Ever-Fresh-Unnamed out of which the dream of separation emerges and

subsides.

It is where you have always been.

It is you Home.

The world turns inside out......and becomes Who-You-Are.

And you smile........

Like this.

The conceptual world is the reflections on the surface.

The Resolution lies deeper.

The finest of all, the ground, may pattern or not pattern.

Worlds, consciousnessess, manifestations...are moving patterns of the

ground.

What we've got here, by jobe, is absence of absence, an utter lack of all lack.

Emptiness is empty of emptiness.
