Coulda sworn that's a question one asks of oneself, not others ;-).

I do, and I'm certain Dan does... both of us are right here, now. So is anyone

else who isn't pushing the entire universe away and declaring themselves

separate from it.

I have a strange question.

The dream of separtiveness is just a dream - no center, no such dream.

And what about the dream of being a human? After all there is seeing through

human eyes,

hearing through human ears, thinking human thoughts....

There is the physical world and the conceptual world.

The mind of man creates a conceptual overlay that it mistakes for reality.

It mixes and blends the two worlds into a unique personal concoction from which

a few try to escape.

The sense of self is composed solely of words.

It can be effected only by conceptual thought.

It's composed also of feelings in the body, e.g. emotions. Attachment is

primarily emotional in nature. This is why all this gab on the lists has little

or no 'effect' on anyone. Conceptual thought exists on the very surface of the

mind.

P; Be serious! If words have no effect at all,

why do you bother to write here?

This is why all this gab on the lists has little or no 'effect' on anyone.

Conceptual thought exists on the very surface of the mind.

Words are primarily the 'symptom', not the cause ;-). But sure, seeds can be

planted, provided the ground is fertile in the first place.

P More accurately, the sense of self is a feeling

evoked by words. The function of words is to provoke

images, feelings, emotions, actions, and of course,

other words.

Toombaru2006: 'I do " are the words that marry you to the dream of separation.

Tim: Words have no effect at all -- they're merely combinations of 26 alphabetic

characters.

Atagrasin: " Pop reducionism " here? " Sticks and stones can break my bones, but

words will never hurt me. " This might sounds nice, but, is it true? You can say

that the problem is not with the words, but, with the meaning attached to them,

my question now would be ,can you control the reactions that words evoke? In

this, clearly, lies the " effect " [or call it " power " ] of words.
