Guest guest
What a sorry mess the " self " is. First we have " I " , the speaker ('I am talking to you') and " me " , the listener ('you are talking to me'), completely fragmented from each other by the 'you'. Then, of course, we have " myself " , which I've never quite figured out what it's supposed to represent -- the combination of " I " and " me " , I s'pose, the body. Which can apparently be addressed by " something else " ( " I'm talking to myself " )!!! Whew. The phoney-baloney, so-called subject-object relationship really makes a mess of things.
