Guest guest
The way I figure it is this -- Both the " I " and the " me " depend on the " you " . It's a mutual dependency. The " I " needs to address you in order to feel self-reliant, and the " me " ('little 'ol me?') needs to be addressed by you in order to feel safe and reassured. Thus, the " I " needs to push 'you' away, and the " me " needs to pull 'you' towards. Whoops... danger Will Robinson, we have a conflict.
