long " after " guru passes from the scene..

it can honestly be said of him..

that he had no enemies..

but that his friends had intensely disliked him.

there is still a soft slow still smiling on that.

it's called the wind.

oh what that wind hath caught up!

That all depends doesn't it Bobby? Silence is the great mystery

from which the Om of life is heard.

Can words ever break the silence?

P: Please notice how your sentence above is pure

nonsense. You don't even notice the meaning of the

words you use. Mystery means an unknown. If its

unknown how can you say anything about it. So,

your sentence contradicts itself by saying: it's

unknown, but I know it's Om is heard. If anything

is heard, then it's not silence.

>

>A: Can words ever break the silence?

P: Any absence can be broken by a presence. Being

in silence means not being distracted by any

activity. Anything that can be perceived, You

are not. The mind loves distraction, not silence.

Dear Pete, yes, silence has nothing to do with anything we

can speak of, however, silence is a living blank canvass on which

we draw our very nature, from which we breathe.

Om is the absence of any particular sound. Or the prsence

of sound, separated from the light (of awareness).

It's my way of making sense of the mystery. If you don't like

it, you're entitled to make up your own. EveryOne does.

Definitions? Not much, really. They help me to organize by category.

And once in awhile, if I'm particularly lucky that day, I'll meet

someone on the same track, and we'll smile as if we knew something.

It's nice when that happens.

However, there's a great cartoon at gururatings that speaks it all for

me.

It's the Wizard of Id one. If I were computer literate, I'd copy &

paste it here.

Suffice it to say the spook is in his jail cell, with a thought balloon

over his head: " Maaan I'm bored. " next frame he thinks: " I would give

anything just to know what it's like to be free of

this wretched cell. " ; and the last frame is two peasants, one smoking a

pipe, leaning against a building, the other leaning against a tree,

saying: " Man, I'm bored. "

Yup.

They never have and never will.

And all the words every spoken came from the same " source. "

And return there (here) without ever having left.

Yes, the om is formed of silence.

In which it echoes endlessly.

The silence is how it reverberates.

No silence, no om.

No no, no yes.

Yes/no.

Silence/om.

Do you think distractions come from outside of you?

You are the distraction that is distracting you.

Realize this, and you are still.

There has never been anything separated from awareness.

You can't make sense of nonsense.

You can only be the nonsense, the original no-thing.

You (I) can't do anything with it, or to it.

One moment of acute awareness, and the distraction is the one who is seeking to

be distracted.

I am the distractedness, the movement away, the attempt, the attempt to get

something, to have something, to be something, to realize something.

No distractedness, no me.

Silence.

you are distracted enough to attend to the posted..

and to then post replies.

and through screaming electrons..

moving in space and cyberspace..

emitting " noise " beyond and below our physical receptors..

you pretend " silence " .

it' all pretense that you offer incessantly danny.

it's like the local yokel who never left Hicksville..

talking about his adventures and exploits in far away Paradise!

it comes across the same phony way.

it expresses " you " beyond what you think.

not a pretty picture Mr. Pompous.

The picture you've constructed of me, isn't pretty for you.

And it is " me " that is doing this.

Me, me, me.

To you, you, you.

None of which exists for you.

Sure.
