Guest guest
To me this wholeness, ground, or All is just a sensation of infinity that we infer as a comprehensive " All. " If I affirm this All, I'm affirming only the inference I make, If I deny this All, I'm denying said inference made by others. I can only say I have sensations, and ideas about these sensations. The Buddha seems to say that consciousness itself is the cause of dukkha and the wise should seek estrangement from this consciousness: From Wikipedia n a discourse entitled, " The All " (Sabba Sutta, SN 35.23), > > the Buddha states that there is no " all " outside of the six > > pairs of sense bases (that is, six internal and six external > > sense bases).[5] The " To Be Abandoned Discourse " (Pahanaya > > Sutta, SN 35.24) further expands the All to include first > > five aforementioned sextets (internal sense bases, external > > sense bases, consciousness, contact and feeling).[6][7] > > In the famed " Fire Sermon " ( & #256;dittapariy & #257;ya Sutta, SN 35.28) > > the Buddha declares that " the All is aflame " with passion, > > aversion, delusion and suffering (dukkha); to obtain release > > from this suffering, one should become disenchanted with the > > All.[8] *** He finds estrangement in the mind, finds estrangement in ideas, finds estrangement in mind-consciousness, finds estrangement in mind-contact, and whatever is felt as pleasant or painful or neither-painful-nor-pleasant that arises with mind-contact for its indispensable condition, in that too he finds estrangement. " When he finds estrangement, passion fades out. With the fading of passion, he is liberated. When liberated, there is knowledge that he is liberated. He understands: 'Birth is exhausted, the holy life has been lived out, what can be done is done, of this there is no more beyond.'
