Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. -- Dylan Thomas

The " problem, " if there IS one, And I don't think there is one, Well, not necessarily, just significantly, (For me, an admittedly fine point, Is that " it " can be significant yet unnecessary) Is that he DOESN'T know that!! (In his avowed fragmentation, He doesn't know just how fragmented he is: He IS SUCCESSFULLY fragmented.) That IS his freedom: In PERFECT play. Your quote is awesome but I was also assuming! that You yourself were having the same experience as Nis. For me, " it all boils down " to my own personal experience: My trusting my own experience: I would never trust another's experience, ever.. Until it was also, PRIMARILY, my own. Still, I think you're probably on the " Right track, " (whatever that means...hope I don't sound too presumptuous) geo> It does sound so - very much. There is a sense of having been taken by a wind of emotions that are bubbling out of your " " mouth " (hands?). Resistance attempts to maintain a stance against an other. Part of that attempt involves attempting to keep a sense of " will, " of volition, of " I can do what I want. " Bottom-line: resistance is an automatic thought patterning, a construct of avoidance of nonseparative awareness, based in fear that is generally denied. Resistance is actually nonvolitional. It is a recurrent pattern of avoiding what is feared (for example, Nothing) by trying to say " I am someone. " Or is avoidance of Being, by trying to get and have (which may involve " attention from others " not necessarily things and money). Because Being and Nothing are the same, the avoidance patterns (resistance) tend to involve recurrent themes among human beings. " I am someone, see " avoiding that I am nothing. " I really have, and have got, and will get, " avoiding that I have nothing. " I do what I want, " avoiding that I do nothing. -- Dan --

You can't trust another's words, really. You can only imagine you are doing that. What you are trusting is the image you've conjured up for yourself, along with associated feelings, as you read the words. Along with the " intent " to believe there is someone else to trust. And as one understands that the actuality of what one is, is immediate, the intent to believe and trust in words and someone else, dissolves. The immediacy that is, is not mediated. Immediacy = not mediated. Words are mediators. - Dan

A story about the past is constructed via memory, and memory is mediated. The actuality that is, is not constructed, is immediate, doesn't depend on memory, and involves no story. - D -

Spontaneity became a way of life, the real became natural and the natural became real. And above all, infinite affection, love, dark and quiet, radiating in all directions, embracing all, making all interesting and beautiful, significant and auspicious. That is why I refer to the guru's words and not my own. I watch my words as they pass, and laugh. Never able to convey what is. And that is the beauty of it. Just as I have never seen myself. - Dan

It's difficult to acknowledge that there is no Self that will free a self. There is no self to be made free. One is free of self. The strivings of the self to be free, are avoidance. The wish of the self to make itself free by believing in freedom, is self-deceit. Awareness, although that which never is not, comes at a price: Everything you have believed yourself to be, know, have. In other words, all the unreality that has been taken as real. And the center of it. - Dan -

From a perspective of non-attachment, it's laughable. The loss of unreality, directly related to " all my problems " , being taken as a " price? Do you take this woman to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, 'til death do you part? You do? Do you? Which 50% of all marriages end in divorce -- the " self " half, or the " other " half? *You'll* never tell ;-). Cheers...

" non-attachment has a " perspective " ? oh c'mon! what's it attached to a perspective for or with or by or even why? it would seem that this false notion is from your perspective. that's even more laughable from any perspective. ..b b.b.
