Guest guest
Questioner: Kindly tell us how you realised. Maharaj: I met my Guru when I was 34 and realised by 37. Q: What happened? What was the change? M: Pleasure and pain lost their sway over me. I was free from desire and fear. I found myself full, needing nothing. I saw that in the ocean of pure awareness, on the surface of the universal consciousness, the numberless waves of the phenomenal worlds arise and subside beginninglessly and endlessly. As consciousness, they are all me. As events they are all mine. There is a mysterious power that looks after them. That power is awareness, Self, Life, God, whatever name you give it. It is the foundation, the ultimate support of all that is, just like gold is the basis for all gold jewellery. And it is so intimately ours! Abstract the name and shape from the jewellery and the gold becomes obvious. Be free of name and form and of the desires and fears they create, then what remains? Q: Nothingness. M: Yes, the void remains. But the void is full to the brim. It is the eternal potential, as consciousness is the eternal actual.

Guest guest
In old greece, philosphers wondered what aspect of the being/mind could understand the ultimate/ground. They knew it was not the thinking mind, or logic, or perception,so they invented a new word for it: intellect. We continue to use the same word today.....but how differently!! -geo-

We pay too much attention to consciousness. We project it as 'out there', away from us. But, it is not away from us. It is here. Now. * * * -t- We pay too much attention but in a fragmented manner. We are unable to simply see/look. Once seeing is total, integer, there is only seeing - no seer. -geo-

When dead all that pontials are gone. The anus has the potential for farting. But when the organism died and the body decayed then all that potential for farting is gone. Nous: Commonly translated as 'mind' or 'intellect', the Greek word nous is a key term in the philosophies of Plato, Aristotle and Plotinus. What gives nous its special significance there is not primarily its dictionary meaning - other nouns in Greek can also signify the mind - but the value attributed to its activity and to the metaphysical status of things that are 'noetic' (intelligible and incorporeal) as distinct from being perceptible and corporeal. In Plato's later dialogues, and more systematically in Aristotle and Plotinus, nous is not only the highest activity of the human soul but also the transcendent principle of cosmic order. -geo- avast!
