Guest guest
You may believe you have a self, and are trying to get rid of it. But you actually have no self, and are attempting to create and maintain one. This is why words/concepts 'don't do the trick'. The attempt to have a self falls away, or not. The understanding of the meaning of an " I " as " observer " , and the fact that observer can not be observed. Once the false is seen/understood...nothing else is needed....except perhaps understading again and again... -geo-

It is not a matter of effort. Yes, I agree.. definitely not a matter of effort. It's as though awareness is 'rewired' in a new configuration, or rather, the old configuration (self/other) simply drops away. The " wiring " for it is lost. It could be a matter of neurons in the brain, I don't know... speculation. In any case, the self/other configuration isn't there anymore, or is there " provisionally " when socializing, seen as an as-if sort of thing, a matter of custom and convention. Not actualy what happens with moleculs and cels, but the quality of a mind that has understood. Is it definitive? Is there some gradual change? Nothing is gradual in the nature of the understanding - no, but perhaps in the quality that results from the changes in the structure of the mind. We are not dealing with neuroscience here.... -geo-

The false as false is true. -geo-

The water coming out can't be called a 'thing'. Everything is like the water, ceaselessly changing.

No observer, no true or false. - D -
