It is no longer believed here that there is a loving God.

The searcher for love has returned home.......with empty hands.

There is no love in nature.

The human mind is the only location in the manifested universe where love can be

cultivated.

If there is ever to be love in the world......it will have to grown

within......and flow from.....the mind that emerged in your very own head.

Toom,

Awareness is love -- the only love possible.

Attachment isn't love.

Dwell on this.

You are the world.

The world is your own memory.

This is so for everyone.

Be present, be love, love without expectation of return.

No other love is worthy of the name, in my view.

Love cultivated? That is not love. Love is what is when I am not there.

Yes, it is a result of absolute freedom...not from something..but in itself.

Then the whole universe seems...love....

Everyone's looking for love, but no one particularly wants to give it. This is

why it isn't to be found 'out there'... it's a futile search, as is, in the end,

all search.

Neither seeking, nor avoiding.

Just paying attention. I think Ramana Maharshi said, when asked to sum up his

teaching in one word: Attention.

Nor is it a matter of avoiding effort, will, cultivating or

practice.

Neither seeking, nor avoiding.

Just paying attention. I think Ramana Maharshi said, when asked to sum

up

his teaching in one word: Attention.

-t-

Yes. Seems strange that love could be the result of attention......but

it

is.

Well...not a " result " , no. It is not a result of anything...it

just is. As

someone said before: attention seems to do something to the barriers to

freedom.

-geo-

Edg: Geo, I'm willing to bet you cannot define love without using

the concept awareness. Putting the attention on any object is

loving that object -- even if the attention seems to be directed by

ego. If I love someone, it's a gimme that I'm attending that

person's display of qualities. Attention is the sole component of

love. If I put my attention on a pile of dog dew on my lawn, or if I look

into my gal's eyes -- I am not loving either object more than the

other. I am ferociously attached to my lady, and want to put my

future attention on her, but whether I'm looking at the dog dew or her, I

cannot be said to be giving her a bigger attention or a wider or a fuller

or a better attention.

Here, read these words aloud: " Hitler, " " my lover, "

" Mother, " " serial killer. " See? Your mind

just let those concepts whizz right on through without your attention

squirming on the evil doers and trying to lessen awareness of the

thoughts. Just so, your eyes do not edit out certain nasties in

your field of vision. And on and on, awareness cannot be found to

be judgmental -- how the ego uses awareness (its only ability) is 100%

judgmental though. And what a difference in life when you know the

difference between attention and attachment.

Ya gotta get clarity about your definitions, bub. Otherwise it's

gunna bite ya in the ass when you need your ass bite free the

most.

I am going to use words in a loose fashion:

Attention....there is awareness of the whole field of consciounsess, or the

field of manifestation, or the world, that includes all, nothing is

excluded. So, using your concept of putting attention on any

object......being the object all there is............there you are. Or

attention not to let a fragment of consicousness make noise. Or attention

not to let a fragemnt become some observer.

Edg: Ugh, Geo, Geo, Geo, what am I going to do with you? Could you rewrite

your response and fluff it up a bit? Say, 1,000 words at least, cuz, man,

nothing you've said in a single post here would lead me to believe you and I are

on the same page. Good news: the above poetry has some promising statements

that could possibly be " rescued " by a more detailed fleshing out of their

skeletons. Give a try, come on, Geo, you can do this.

I'm outta here for hours at least, so I won't reply to whatever you post next

until probably tomorrow morning, so, hey, take your time and think out what

you're typing. Pretend you're writing up your concepts for a 10 year old kid,

and then I'll pretend I'm that kid and we'll see if the kid can get Advaita 101

from your words. Otherwise: doom awaits.

That's all nonsense. Awareness is awareness and nothing more and nothing less.
