Guest guest
Hi everybody and namaste i joined this list last night. In my mail program your conversations are lined up with quotes and responses. Some of them one long line of words from different people, but those names mean nothing to me. Which turns the conversation in a chorus of voices around a centre- Nisargadatta and what he stands for. Since Kundalini started to rise in my body about 15 years ago my mind tends to shut down, especially when the context is meant to be " spiritual " . I seem to read the energy or the light rather than grasping every word with my mind. While " reading " your posts i feel compassion and i smile. It´s good to be here. mia

Beware, he'll beat you soundly about the head and shoulders with the concept: nothingness. He'll be pretending that he's the go-to guy here who's got the tee shirt for nihilism, and that he's some ersatz Zen master who'll enlighten you by snickering at you. That's it. That's his only card to play. Now, if you want concepts galore like a field of flowers bathing in the rays, Dan or Pete'll do ya -- even if they are afraid of getting caught red-nosed smelling a flower, cuz it ain't spiritually manly, donchaknow. (I'm ribbing them, but they do get very antsy if you try to get them to admit to anything for fear of being caught being alive in the land of the dead and taking it seriously.) If you want feelings, Anabebe is da bomb. She'll maraud you like a kid with a supersoaker that squirts liquid poetry. If you want an avalanche of words, 'tis moi's contribution. If you want sheer inanity by buffoons cavorting with concepts like ten year olds trying to juggle flaming chainsaws, there's at least five posters here who'll gladly fill that slot fer ya, and each and every time they'll chortle they've hacked off one of your beliefs like a living limb, and then you get to watch them gather around your twitching body in glee like The Lord of the Flies was their scriptural authority. We got a crew here that set fire to the entire cosmos, just so they could say, " Nothing's happening, there isn't any " you, " but if you insist there is a you, then we shout STOOOPID in unison as we munch on your carcass as our IMAX lap-snack as we watch the end of the world. " Where ya from, where ya goin', whatcha know? Give us a blurb about the past, show us what you're aiming at down the path, and, hey, try a little strutting-yer-stuff just to see who thinks it's " stomp the newbie " time. I'd say, " Welcome, " but this isn't Walmart, it's a junkyard dog convention. Careful offering any bones here, they'll target the pulsing blood and flesh of the hand that feeds them instead. Hi Edg - That's because the posters on " nondual " lists are the same people who provide the rest of the " communication " that goes on, on this planet. They've latched on to " nonduality " as a means of self-validation, which is just another way to try to validate oneself to add to all the others. The attempt to self-validate results in all manner of aggressive, competitive communications. There is little genuine inquiry, little intelligent listening, and much in the way of self-assertion. One who has followed inquiry through to its conclusion (which is not a matter of reaching or establishing any conclusion) naturally experiences a sense of relief, gratitude, openness. This naturally results in communication as a human being, although one understands that co-mmunication is not possible and has never happened. One understands an aloneness that is so much so, that there is no sense of aloneness to it. This has never not been the case. One is not asserting a truth, nor is one validating oneself by what one presents - however, naturally enough, one meets all kinds of responses to counter the truth that it is believed that one asserted, or to invalidate the speaker in various ways - even though no speaker was assumed to be self-validating through the communication. And thus it goes ... As noted in Ecclesiastes: Vanity of vanities. There is nothing new under the sun. Clearly, there is no volitionality involved anywhere. The sense of volition is only a reflection of the perception of distance between an I/it, or an I/thou. When no such distance is perceived, volitionality cannot be attributed anywhere. Thus, as is stated in some Tibetan teachings: all phenomena as they are, are " self-liberating. " Not only is there nothing new (in terms of human thought and relationship), there is no need for anything to be made new. The newness or noncontinuity or suchness or indivisibility is the actuality of being aware, and never has not been so. Thus, all perceived phenomena are " self-liberating " as is said in some Tibetan teachings. Nothing needs to be done to anything, no newness, no new perspective needs to be brought into things (through conceptuality or communicating). Yes, true... no self, no other. Talking to 'others' or 'being by oneself', is essentially the same. There's no craving to socialize, and no pushing away of socializing, should it happen. And what is it that's doing the watching of this scenario? Whatever it is, is already alone, as it's always been... and dreaming the whole scene. Even if you do not depend on anybody and live a most virtuous life - do social work, demonstrate up and down the street - if you have no love it has no value at all. If you love, then you can do what you will. For the man who loves there is no error - or if there is an error, he corrects it immediately. A man who loves has no jealousy, no remorse; for him there is no forgiveness, because there is not a moment in which a thing that has to be forgiven arises. That's what makes them popular. The closer one gets to the ultimate understanding.....the more the silliness of their prattlings is seen. toombaru
