Love is the seeking for a release from the tension that comes with sentience. Life as an imaginary self is a frightening and lonely place. Life as an identified entity is never ending quest for its personal fulfillment and completion. The self evolved to search for those things and events that help appease its unquenchable thirst for homeostasis. In that sense love is truly the fundament, the foundation and the framework out of which the sense of self emerges. Love is its very function. It couldn't live without love.....and yet can never attain it. It IS the love-quest.
