If you love to get fascinated and to broaden and widen your knowledge then it just is fine. And if you are not interested it is fine too. But to remind you, that the end should be to realize your own non-existenec. And babbling of your own non-existence is not the realisation of it nor will it lead to it. For example Nis has shown a practicable 'path' to it and also Douglas Harding with his 'Headless way' did it. Werner

Well, people get into groups to create a culture or subculture. Like when they used to follow the Greatful Dead around on tour. If " enlightenment " and " nonduality " form a way to make and participate in a subculture, then we need a different word for whatever it is that doesn't depend on culture. How about " Herbie " ? Only, now there will be books about Herbie, and people making systems to get to Herbie, and people wanting to get together to talk about Herbie. So, I guess that's human nature ... > a good business for this people, sure... > > good for economy.....maybe, then...also, good for the " world in crises " ..... > > there is also a cafeteria for all this toomies i believe.... > > ... This will be a spiritual experience beyond anything provided at the Nondual Conference. Although, I do hear there will be a great bunch of alcoholic poets attending the great Dual Conference they will be having in Truth or Consequences, NM. Hey, networking's good!!!! Anyone driving from Washington near Tim? Please spread the word!!! I'll see what I can do, I'm still ironing out foreclosure issues. I have some other friends in Washington, see if they might want to go. Who knows. All these years on the net may prove beneficial yet. My kids were telling me of a recent Skybluejet(?) offer of under $500 round trip anywhere in the contiguous states, regardless of how many stops. If my papers were in order, I could visit friends in NY, Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma, etc. etc. etc. on the way to and from the Marin festival...(if they'd have me, of course); at the moment I'm looking into trains. My mom always said to do a cross-country train adventure as she was fond of them in Europe, back in the day. Would be wonderful for us all to finally meet, the who's whos of our home-away-from-home (oh, !). ~A

And commerce keeps the engines of the economy moving. If the economy stagnates, people are harmed in various ways (loss of job, inability to feed and clothe children, unable to get health care, etc.). Of course, one can differentiate between types of commerce that require someone to be hurt (e.g., theft, manipulation, cheating, imposing, abusing, demeaning) and types of commerce that don't require any harm (building, growing, dispersing useful goods, feeding, clothing, healing). If people sell books, that doesn't hurt anyone. If the books don't suggest ways to abuse, hurt, steal, kill, etc., then the books simply are providing whatever information is in them to be taken in by the reader. No harm in this. There are many forms of legitimate commerce. All part of the energy flow of the human economy. Money represents energy. The human community is a movement of energy. - D -

No need to change duality into something else. It is what it is. Nonduality isn't outside of, beyond, or opposed to nonduality. Values are imaginary, and values change. Something existing for all time is a human imagining. Humans feel insignificant and insecure, so humans construct ideas about something that can exist for all time. Humans want to be remembered, want to be significant, want to put their name on something. Hence, all kinds of grandiose political and religious claims, and all kinds of conflicts and wars. Now, it's corporations. Corporate logos are everywhere you look. The corporation - the new human version of immortality. All human attempts to establish something that will go on and on, that will maintain its significance, must fail. In the failure of such attempts, there is great beauty. -- D --
