The reason for this is that emotions are much faster than the intellect. Don't forget that consciousness ALWAYS comes later. When a decision gets conscious it already was made seconds before it got conscious. Because of that characteristic of consciousness one aways gets the impression that a decision is made NOW but that is a delusion.
