The same as your Self (Atman). There is really only Brahman, Atman is Brahman.

already such words lead to endless speculations etc etc...

Means, experience the distinction between this apparent body & mind...and Brahman

There couldn't be any body, mind and intellect working and existing....without

There couldn't be any appearent change and forms...in relation to non-change and

formlessness....means, in relation to peace.

Put your left thumb on the table.

Get a hammer with your right hand and with a heavy blow hit your thumb.

At that moment Atman, Brahman the Self and similar mental stuff which occupied

your mind is totally gone.

Then instantly say to yourself " Marc, you are a damn fool " .

And you will see the truth of it.

you did that hammer hit thing with your head didn't you wernie?

you could have saved yourself the trouble girl.

all you had to do was ask anyone here beforehand..

or before-head in your case..

about whether or not you are a fool.

we would gladly have told you that yes you are.

but i'm sure you would have wanted..

to carry on with your experiment anyway..

because you think we are all stupid.

does it surprise you then that yes you are a fool like we said?

well if you still have any doubts..and want to prove us wrong..

you can hit your head with that hammer again.

i mean there is no sense in calling for a vote on this.

oops..

that's right you have no sense do you?

LOL!

..b b.b.

p.s.

did you hit your left head or your right head?

doesn't matter.

they are both equally as ugly as one another i'm sure.

and i just bet they both have dirty long locks too.

are both of them not reading this?

:-)

I dont know marc. We would have to decipher (translate properly the meaning

they imparted to them) words like atman and brahman to be able to talk about

them, but, as I see it, atman is brahman in the same measure as the drop is

the same as the ocean. None of them is treated in the scriptures as the ego.

I dont understand what you mean with " it take some effort to this your

mentionned " Atman " to get awareness "

an ocean is a rather small thing to compare..

to what you think you think you're talking about with Brahman.

but for what your limited capacity is indeed referring to..

a " thing " that goes by a silly name " Brahman " ..

the ocean is actually way too big.

anyway..

both oceans AND drops by the kazillions..

are totally insignificant and have nothing to do with THAT.

oh baba knows it's just your silly atman speaking...

or so " it " seems to " you " .

the scriptures were maybe written by people without any ego(-problems)

anymore...

therefore the scriptures get often high attention by ego-freaks...who are realy

trying " everything " to keep on dreaming....and think that this their little

imaginary ego is equal to an " ocean " ...

this their little imaginary ego " who " has made some fantastic experiences and

therefore must be " enlightened " ...etc...etc

you are already doing some effort to read the scriptures....and asking what it

means that it take some effort to get awareness...?...

;)

a brahman is ok.

personally .b b.b. is a leg man himself.

baba hopes that doesn't make him a male chauvinist pig.

Bob has always wholeheartedly supported women libbers..

in my own whole hard way...

wholesomely of course.

just like a bra supports whatever it's supposed to support.

i mean baba thinks Gloria Steinem had some pretty gamey gams..

bold and brassy broads deserve manly respect!

now baba is just jesting...

so why not just say ..

in a perfect Irish accent:

" 'atta boy! 'atman is a good sport. "

it really doesn't mean anything anyway.

so let's just dance dance dance.

to the moment that's not here..

and to the music that isn't there..

although no one can actually do anything..

let's do or dare...or die..

if not already dead.

What do you think?

Atman means breath. Surely you know that.

Atman, ergo sum.

Sum what?

Sum nothing.

That would be Brahman.

-geo-

the scriptures were maybe written by people without any ego(-problems)

anymore...

-marc-

Many probably have been writen by people who knew all is one.

-geo-

therefore the scriptures get often high attention by ego-freaks...who are

realy trying " everything " to keep on dreaming....and think that this their

little imaginary ego is equal to an " ocean " ...

this their little imaginary ego " who " has made some fantastic experiences

and therefore must be " enlightened " ...etc...etc

-marc-

The people who read scriptures are many. There are all kinds of readers.

-geo-

you are already doing some effort to read the scriptures....and asking what

it means that it take some effort to get awareness...?...

;)

Marc

These days my effort to read the scriptures is very small. It is like

reading a book or magazine in the waiting room of the dentist. I read the

Upanishads accidentally when hitchhiking in Spain ~ 1975, the book was in a

shelf in the van I was riding. I saw the unreadable title so out of

curiosity I took it and read. It was a pretty nice " experience " - I really

enjoyed it. It was my first contact with the those people of wisdom from the

past (also wandering what is the nature of the " I " )

The (real) Self who experience that only Brahman is real...

experience that this appearent " Atman " or mentionned " Self (Atman) " ...

is an appearent form of Brahman only.

And nothing else.

Means, that indeed only Brahman is real

In the Upanishads, seems to me, " atman " is the ultimate, the ground,

awareness - realized by the human being that is just a fragment of the

universe. Atman is the real just as Brahman. The former is the drop, the

later the ocean.

I did not understand very well what you are trying to say.... but I am not

searching anything. Nothing is not this, there is nothing to get, nothing

" else " to become.
