Guest guest
When we talk about self - we seem to be talking of different things. The thing/ " thing " itself is one -- it is the observed. There is no observer where there is one/ " one " . There is no feeling or sensation of being inside or outside the world. The feeling/sensation of being outside and inside comes with thought/thinking. It's via thoughts/thinking that a feeling of being separated from the world arises. This is the birth of a " me " and voila! there's a seeming gap between this " me " and " an other " / " the other(s) " . This is what happens in communication between humans - it is more " me " s talking with " each other " . So far the " self " -- it is an idea comes with thought, comes with thought-reflection(s). --- Can one communicate one? One with no audience -- one without listeners an speakers, one, merely one communicating itself? Have you ever been all alone and sung a song and at first you were careful for what if anybody could hear you? And then the song - the singing - took over and all ideas about others who might or might not be listening - evaporated? That is one communicating one. --- To some people one IS the self. And when the self evaporates there is noone, no self. One is none, and there is bliss etc. To some people " listening " which they call awareness, is one - is self. See? We are not talking the same language. How can we expect to be able to talk with each other then? More important: how can one communicate one - when there are two or more involved in the conversation? It is a mission im possible. And that's why these lists are such a great space for some of us. One can communicate one; there is no audience, no speaker - just one talking. Not so on Facebook and all the other chit chat places. Ha! The sec I wrote audience, there was an imagined audience and an imagined speaker talking to them. Till then - one was simply communicating one. One talks, one plays the jazz, one sings the blues, one acts out in theatre s and in movies, one writes crimestories ... and so on. A gentleman once said, one has to be the tree in order to be able to paint/draw it. -Lene
