I think for Ramana, everything starts with knowing: " Who am I? " Only after knowing the Real Self, any purpose might make sense. To serve a " purpose " , first we need to know: " whose purpose it is? " and, " Who wants to serve it? " For Buddha, it was to find out the root of the suffering and to understand how suffering manifests and if there is a way to end suffering. Based on my reading of Ramana, I think Ramana might have liked to ask: " Whose suffering it is anyway? " " Who is suffering? " and, " Who wants to end the suffering? " and, perhaps, most importantly: " Who am I? " " Am I really the same one who is suffering, who wants to end the suffering... or, is the one who is suffering is just a thought? " Where does the suffering go in deep dreamless sleep... when, I am still there? If " deep dreamless sleep " is not known: Where does the suffering go in meditation... after all, I am still there? ==== forwarded from GuruRatings/
Guest guest
pagans don't understand the suffering of Christ. the fundamental followers of Christ's have a fundamental teaching: heathens go to hell. are you with me so far? (you won't be when you go there.) anyway...now easy on the attitude ac. i know this probably annoys you.. but you have much to learn about yourself. i'm here to serve you for that very reason. we've been over this haven't we? do try and remember your lessons. at least before you go to.... well you know where. yours in Christ where you are not. who's your daddy? :-) ..b b.b.
