An approaching truck shows in my rear-view mirror. Its 'image' comes INSIDE the mirror, yet, my rear-view mirror is NOT the approaching truck. When I cover my rear-view mirror no truck shows in it, yet, it doesn't mean that the mirror is the truck.Mind is similar to the mirror. The world shows in it. When the mind is asleep nothing shows in it. However, just because something shows INSIDE it doesn't mean that it is that. In a way, mind is little different as it can even create images inside. That way, it is more like a multi-purpose backup camera + DVD player + Navigation system device. It can play pictures from DVD (memory) and it can show the vehicles, people, things behind. not the world.

 

 

An approaching truck shows in my rear-view mirror. Its 'image' comes INSIDE

the mirror, yet, my rear-view mirror is NOT the approaching truck. When I

cover my rear-view mirror no truck shows in it, yet, it doesn't mean that

the mirror is the truck.

 

 

Mind is similar to the mirror. The world shows in it. When the mind is

We can start from the side - I am nothing I perceive, or I am everything I

perceive. The same.

I will start with the former. Are your eyes different from you? If they

where you could not sense them. So your eyes are you.

All the sense organs are you. When you see a bird flying...is that bird

different from you? We say that the retina of the eyes is also you,

the bird flying is the same retina receiving photons, reacting to photons.

So your vision of the bird is your retina in movement.

This can be said for all sense organs you have. Where is the something that

is not you?

'what'... may not be absolutely necessary to know. And, since I can not be

an object to myself, it might not be possible to really know it as a " what " .

I am it and because I am it, I can not know it as an object. To know

something as a distinct object requires some separation from it.

BTW.. I can sense my eyes. Sometimes eyes itch. Sometimes eyes feel tired.

Sometimes eyes feel uncomfortable in bright light. I am sure I will sense

when someone pokes them too.
