Shutter Island is not a great movie. In fact i felt cheated.

SPOILER ALERT: DON'T READ THE REST IF YOU PLAN TO SEE THE MOVIE

..

..

..

It's about a delusional cop investigating disapperance of another mental patient

at the mental hospital and in the process he realizes he's also a patient there.

I'm sure lots of folks who are into nonduality will get a kick out of the

similaries between the advaita folk tales and this movie.

P: That theme is similar to " The Six Sense " a shrink treating a

child that sees ghosts, until he realizes he is a ghost himself.

It's also very similar to the movie " Dan And Tim " Two gurus trying

to teach in the internet, until they realize they are seekers

trying to teach themselves.

" Dan and Tim " show...???? Duh! I'm really slow. At first I thought it was a real

movie. To be fair to Dan and Tim...aren't we all though? Most regulars here

could give a mean satsang i bet. If i was in a position to issue certifications

i'd approve at least a dozen posters here.

P: :)) Half a dozen? You are more generous than

Papaji. I don't think more than 6 posters, now. Do you?

The student is oneself.

The teacher is oneself.

The learning is the teaching.

So, yes, I'm aware that I'm teaching myself. Who else is there to teach?

Pete is really hung up on all these others, who do things like get taught when

they don't want to get taught, or do compulsive things that Pete has to

straighten out for them.

Is Pete learning from the teaching he is giving himself, that there are no

others?

It's obvious that Pete is wanting to teach himself not to be reactive.

Is he less reactive yet?

How about Werner?

He's always wanting to teach people to stop being arrogant, come down to earth.

Is Werner getting to be a down-to-earth person yet, and less arrogant?

Bob (hey Bob, hope your trip is going well) wants to teach people not to think

they're special or have something to say. Has Bob learned how to stop teaching

people, and stop thinking that he's special?

Lene wants to teach people to be open. Is she open and accepting yet?

Anna wants to teach people to be in communion and love. Is Anna in communion

with love yet?

Mark wants to teach people that they are hallucinations. Is Mark fully aware of

his hallucinating yet?

And Hur - Hur wants to teach people to accept whatever happens. Is Hur

accepting whatever happens yet?

Lots of teachers on this list.

And ... who is really listening?

You know what they say ... too many chiefs, not enough Indians.

Well, probably there are some really good listeners who need to post once in a

while and let us know they are listening.

Smiles,

Dan

Far from it. I'm at constant war with my environment and I'm not exactly " green "

either. I just act different on this list. It's not really mine. It was started

for the love of Maharaj and I'm more like a host who wants to do the right thing

but not really sure what to do.

since this is text only anyone who can type the nondual way " from here "

reporting " what is " and those who know how to shuffle regular sentences into

advaita tense qualifies...but i didn't say i can guarantee them seekers which

depends on their shakti power to zap the devotees. neo-advaita is the easiest of

all paths since one does not have to practice, think, sing or learn anything as

long as one chops each positive sentence with the seriousness of a russian

general who commands " nyet nyet " ...i meant " neti, neti. "
