Thank You Venugopal, this is a beautiful thing for me to read today...

I even wrote it down to read it again.

Sangha, there is a vasana where if I perceive that my lover doesn't

love me (through some action), anger comes and I want to run away. Of

course this is not true. He does love me, it is just my perception,

which is not seeing things as they are.

This is of course because of being treated badly (lied to etc), or not

loved in the past relationships. I know the people in the past weren't

able to because of their own vasanas. This is all ok with me.

But still the impression of this colors the present at times and " i "

read the situation wrongly. The time of recognizing this is much

shorter than it used to be, and " i " snap out of it after a couple of

hours lately. And apologize to a forgiving partner. He is learning to

remain in love as the reaction is not who I am. He is doing very well,

and this is most helpful in seeing and letting go of the vasana.

As Ramana said, all I have to do is give up being aware of the not-Self.

I guess it is just persistence and patience to keep letting go of the

not-Self.

Dear SYma and Yosy, I have read, Shri Nisargadatta Maharaj, telling that he had great faith in his guru and hence followed the advise to concentrate on the "I Am" part of his awareness and attained 'Enlightenment'. Asked what is required quality, he says 'Earnestness'. As an example he says, if you lose some article, and if you badly require it, you will search earnestly and find it. I think, earnestness is more than sincerity. One can be very sincere and do nothing, undertake no action. Earnestness calls for meaningful action. Love itself without any associated action is useless -

IMHO. One devotee asked Shri Ramakrishna, what quality one should have to realise God. Shri Ramakrishna says, 'One who is drowning, how much intense desire he has to get air to breath, same intense desire one must have for God realisation !!". With love and

The mind produces thoughts ceaselessly, even when you do not look at them. When

you know what is going on in your mind, you call it consciousness. This is your

waking state - your consciousness shifts from sensation to sensation, from

perception to perception, from idea to idea, in endless succession. Then comes

awareness, the direct insight into the whole of consciousness, the totality of

the mind. The mind is like a river, flowing ceaselessly in the bed of the body;

you identify yourself for a moment with some particular ripple and call it " my

thought " . All you are conscious of is your mind; awareness is the cognizance of

consciousness as a whole.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Do you understand Pete or Tim or Dan or anyone else that believes the deluded

mind?

Hi Mark -

If you believe there is a deluded mind to believe, that belief is a delusion of

the deluded mind.

If you don't believe that: no worries, mate.

This is your waking state - your consciousness shifts from sensation to

sensation, from perception to perception, from idea to idea, in endless

succession. Then comes awareness, the direct insight into the whole of

consciousness, the totality of the mind. The mind is like a river, flowing

ceaselessly in the bed of the body; you identify yourself for a moment with some

particular ripple and call it " my thought " . All you are conscious of is your

mind; awareness is the cognizance of consciousness as a whole.
