We are definitely in 'Om Tat Sat ' Wonderland today with Sri

Anandaji defining the word 'Sat' (sath- existence or Truth)and the

group page giving us the beautiful verses on 'om tat sat ' from the

Srimad Bhagavad Gita !

We are in Holy 'Sat'SANGHA- Thanx Sunderji and Anandaji !

MAY I REPRODUCE HERE A DIALOGUE BEWEEN SRI RAMANA AND A DISCIPLE ?

SRI RAMANA ON 'SAT' SANGHA

" ...association with the unmanifest sat or absolute existence (is

required).... The sastras say that one must serve (be associated

with) the unmanifest sat for twelve years in order to attain Self-

realization...but as very few can do that, they have to take second

best, which is association with the manifestsat, that is, the Guru. "

Questioner: You say that Association with the Wise (Sat-sanga) and

service of them is required of the disciple.

Sri Ramana Maharshi: Yes, the first really means association with

the unmanifest Sat or absolute existence, but as very few can do

that, they have to take second best which is association with the

manifest Sat, that is, the Guru. Association with sages should be

made because thoughts are so persistent. The sage has already

overcome the mind and remains in peace. Being in his proximity helps

to bring about this condition in others, otherwise there is no

meaning in seeking his company. The guru provides the needed

strength for this, unseen by others.

Thank you , My Gurujis ! Datatreya had 24 upagurus , this 'one' has

many , many gurus and upgurus- all manifest 'sat' gurus!

Folks , i came across this wonderful 10 part series by none other

THAN an our own beloved SADANANDA GARUJI ! WOW! THOSE WERE THE DAYS

WHEN THIS 'SUN' WAS SHINING AT ITS BRIGHTEST ON THE

FIRMAMENT !

HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM SADAJI'S 10 PART SERIAL ON AHAM

BRAHMASMI ...

In fact Bhagavan Ramana starts his SAT DARSHAN book with a prayer

saying that:

Sat pratyayaha kinnu vihaya santam

hrudyesha chintarahito hrudakhyaha |

katham smaramastamameyamekam

tasyasmritih tatra dhrudaiva nishta ||

Without the principle of existence can there be knowledge of

existence.

(what he means is that sat and chit are one and the same since one

cannot exist without the other)

In the heart of my personality free from thoughts is this principal

of existence - that when I say Aham - I am existence.

How can I think of it which is free from the thoughts and not

available for thoughts? Only way is to abide firmly in itself or in

myself.

PLEASE READ THE ENTEIRE TEN PART SERIAL

Thanx Anandaji for providing the weekly definitions as per

Dennisji's request - You are the brightest 'star' on the advaita

firmament ! i hope more members would come forward ------to do

this ...

MAY I SHARE THESE LINES FROM EeMILY BRONTE ON 'SAT'

No coward soul is mine (Jan. 2, 1846)

" To waken doubt in one

Holding so fast by thy infinity

So surely anchored on

The steadfast rock of Immortality

With wide-embracing love

Thy spirit animates eternal years

Pervades and broods above,

Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates and rears

Though Earth and moon were gone

And suns and universes ceased to be

And thou wert left alone

Every Existence would exist in thee

There is not room for Death

Nor atom that his might could render void

Since thou art Being and Breath

And what thou art may never be destroyed. "

HARI AUM OM TAT SAT!

Dear All

The basic idea, the bed-rock of advaita teachings, that

Sat is at once Chit, finds a place in the very first verse of Ulladu Narpatu,

the delineation having been made in a very logic-free, non-analytical,

intuitive, way. However, through any amouunt of reasoning and ratiocination this

cannot be understood. Only in total silence, we can have a glimpse of this. All

the mind can do is to stop indulging in conceptual clouds of linear logic.

with regards

Sankarraman
