Guest guest
Namaste Shrimati Dhyanasaraswati, I realize that you meant kindly by your message #35587 of 8th April (Re: Weekly definition - 'cit' or 'consciousness'), but I must confess that it puts me personally in a somewhat embarassing position. As a sadhaka who is still troubled by ego problems, I must admit once again to fellow sadhakas that my messages are only too liable to be compromised by false ego. Very sorry for the extent that this ego has created a falsely inflated impression of itself, as anything more than a compromised sadhaka. Sadly, this is part of its self-contradictory entanglement. Of course, the less said about this awkward mess, the better. With ashamed apologies, Ananda
Guest guest
Dear Anandaji : Please do not be embarrassed - the idea was not to praise your personality but to the bow to the divine teachings in you duly implanted by your gurujji , sri Atmaananda ... the tribute was more to your guruji for turning out such a divine finisdhed product . so, the praise is well deserved - four people cannot be wrong - now Durgaji also has joined our team of admirers. There are many others out there who are silently learning from your writings . Your ego can never be inflated or deflated for you have no 'ego' - the only ego you have is to be in satsangha and impart the teachings you have learned from your guruji , who is worthy of veneration . You know i am capable of praising people to the skies and tearing them to pieces even if they show a trace of false ego! i am sorry if i offended you - but the divine in me only is bowing to the divine in you ! " Modesty is a shining light; it prepares the mind to receive knowledge, and the heart for truth. " i should be modest for i have so much to be modest about - for example , my ignorance ! the praise was not meant to inflate your ego -the praise was meant to inspire you to keep sharing your knowledge and wisdom in this holy satsangha and not retreat into silence as you occassionally do! with regaqrds -- In advaitin , Ananda Wood <awood wrote: > > Namaste Shrimati Dhyanasaraswati, > > I realize that you meant kindly by your message #35587 of 8th April > (Re: Weekly definition - 'cit' or 'consciousness'), but I must > confess that it puts me personally in a somewhat embarassing > position. > > As a sadhaka who is still troubled by ego problems, I must admit > once again to fellow sadhakas that my messages are only too liable > to be compromised by false ego. Guest guest
Dear Ananda-Ji: Once a student of my teacher was telling him about a problem he had. I was sitting close by within hearing distance of their conversation. After listening to him with care, my teacher said to the student, " There is no real problem here. The problem is that you think there is a problem! " . Your post made me think of that moment and smile. Ananda-Ji: You are obviously a very learned person with an in-depth understanding and a sensitive soul. Humility is good but what does it really mean other than another subtle manifestation of ego? Embarrassment due to troubles of the ego, inflated ego, feeling ashamed, etc., no doubt have their place in the scheme of things but what do these really mean without our attention directed at these feelings to give them life. Sri Ramana used to say that, " The Self is already Realized. " Its the fluctuations of the mind and our identification with these waves that appear to unsettle us. My advice, if you should choose to reflect on it, is, " Fake it until you make it " . Thou art That! Guest guest
Dear Harshaji, Speaking as a brahmajnani and a jivanmukta, I must tell you that I disagree and I think humility is extremely important and you so you are speaking false doctrines. (I'm speaking in jest of course, but you see the problem, right?) Regards, Rishi.
Guest guest
Dear Rishi-Ji: Your name does you justice. We bow to the Brahmajnanai and Jivanmukta. Many a truth are spoken in jest. There is no problem. Guest guest
Rishji ! i thought you are a Brahmarishi and a Videhamukta ! i am not speaking in jest ! i mean it ! LOL! HUMILITY Kabeer, let yourself be a pebble on the path; abandon your egoism. Such a humble slave will meet God. Kabeer, what good would it be, to be a pebble? It would only hurt the traveler on the path. Your slave, O God, is like the dust of the earth. Kabeer, what then, if one could become dust? It is blown up by the wind, and sticks to the body. The humble servant of God should be like water, which cleans everything.Kabeer, what then, if one could become water? It becomes cold, then hot. The humble servant of God should be just like God (sggs 1372). HOW TO BE JUST LIKE GOD ? A MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION ? RISHJI , PL TELL ME ! advaitin , " risrajlam " <rishi.lamichhane wrote: > > Dear Harshaji, > > Speaking as a brahmajnani and a jivanmukta, I must tell you that I > disagree and I think humility is extremely important and you so you > are speaking false doctrines. > > (I'm speaking in jest of course, but you see the problem, right?) > > Regards, > > Rishi. >
