Guest guest
Namaste: As mailing lists and discussion groups get propagated, it is essential for all members of the list to understand the laws regards copyright and expected online ethics. An email is considered copyrighted by the person who sent it, once sent. Forwarding or publishing it without the consent of the person who wrote it is a violation of his copyright. These are unwritten laws and the authors of the emails do get legal protection. The freedom of expression that the Internet has given created an invincible power cloud where ethics, as a result, was disregarded. We all must become responsible Internet citizens if we want this medium to grow without obstacles. We must also guide the new entrance to the cyber society so that they don't make the same mistakes that were committed by us in the past. In addition to the list policies stated in the FAQ (and the summary list guidelines that appear every fortnight) the list expects all of us to follow the cyber ethics. If any member forwards an email that appear in the list, they are obligated to get permission from the author of the posting. The member should also provide complete citation by providing the exact link to the message with the message #.
