It is " personal " only in the sense that it can be personified, but the very fact that it can be personified means that it is not actually personal. Ishvara doesn't have a personality, or emotions, or love-vrittis or anything of that sort because Ishvara is amanaska. Please tell me if I am mistaken, of course.) Let me first assure you Rishiji , in spiritual ity , there is no such thing as a 'mistaken' view ! To each his / her own ! may i please point out the following verses from the Srimad Bhagvad gita in this context ? sri-bhagavan uvaca *aksaram brahma paramam* svabhavo 'dhyatmam ucyate bhuta-bhavodbhava-karo visargah karma-samjnitah ( chapter 8 , verse 3) The Blessed Lord said: BRAHMAN is Imperishable, the Supreme; His essential nature is called Self-knowledge, the creative force that causes beings to spring forth into manifestation is called " work. " in this verse, paramam aksharam brahma uchyathe The great *akshara* is said to be Brahman (imperishable ) Pl Read the next verse yasmat ksaram atito 'ham aksarad api cottamah ato 'smi loke vede ca prathitah purusottamah ( chapter 15 , verse 18) As I transcend the perishable and I am even Higher than the Imperishable, I am declared as the PURUSHOTTAMA (the Highest - PURUSHA) in the world and in the VEDAS So, Rishiji who is the *I* here ? Ishwera , of course ! ! NOW READ THIS LAST ( LASTING) VERSE ! ( MOST QUOTED IN THE LASST IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS ONCE BY ME AON THE MESSAGE BOARD AND ONCE BY SUNDERJI ON THE GROUP PAGE ) brahmano hi pratisthaham amrtasyavyayasya ca sasvatasya ca dharmasya sukhasyaikantikasya ca (CHAPTER 14 , VERSE 27) For I am the Abode of BRAHMAN, the Immortal and the Immutable, of everlasting DHARMA and of Absolute Bliss. AGAIN . WHO IS THE *I* HERE ? Ishwera , of course ! RISHIJI , I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU please LISTEN TO SAINT TYAGARAJA'S SONG Beda rahita vedanta - Here he advocates philosophy without any difference of opinion among the various sects. So, the big question is Ishwera nirguna or saguna ? HARI OM TAT SAT
