Guest guest
Respected Sir, Namasthe, In 8th sloka,3 rd chapter of BhagavatGeeta Lord Krishna preached Arjuna to perform hs Assigned Duty whole heatedly and it is better to do than Without doing anything. He futhur said that man cannot sit idle without doing any thing. At the time of Mahabharatha there exists Class system in INDIA, Arjuna being kshatriya ,his assigned duty is to fight with the enemies, and so he was advised to face the enimies in the battle without retreate. In the presentdays times have been changed, No class system ,No assigned duties..Since Lord Krishna's statements are applicable to all times How we can interpret(understand) the same statement for the present conditions. I hope this is one of the good topic of debate by Group members. Sir,Does this come under Message or post ? Hari Ohm sastry Download prohibited? No problem! CHAT from any browser, without download. Yes, Lord Krishna's statements are applicable to all times, because the agenda has been the same all the times, how to liberate from bondage of all types (fears, angers, lusts, attachements etc,....) etc.......and become one (moksha, brahma nirvanam,.....) peaceful being. The conditions and times have changed definitely, hence one has to apply the methods with an open mind and flexible attitude individually in colloboration with experienced guides or masters who can experiment and clarify more lucidly to the genuine seeker on how to lead a balanced life in these modern times. I mean, we have a stereotyped image/s of those great old-days! But outer-world might have changed a lot, The inner world (human mind-consciousness) has not changed that much. Hence a diamond is needed to cut the Mind (diamond). There is no time beyond mind, hence Gita becomes current and you become the Arjuna and Lord Krishna teaches you again, again and agian the cycle goes on and on like this......Hence Lord Krishna is a timeless/nameless being......So are the 'all' revealed-teachings......The more open yourself, the more they will come to you and guide you........ > Sir,Does this come under Message or post ? both mean the same (in the parlance;)......... > Hari Ohm sastry namaste, ::::::anand

Hari Om! This is not to debate! But just sharing a parable I heard from Swami Jyotirmayanandaji in this context. There was a menacing robber in a village whose profession was robbery! Of course, he would only rob neighbouring villages but not his own. In his village, he lead a decent life in fact, supporting some charitable organizations with the money he looted from his robberies. One day hearing that a mahatma was visiting his village and seeing that every one was seeking guidance from him, this robber also set out to have the darshan of the mahatma. And he went carrying armed with his stout stick to mahatma and told him about his robberies. True to his natural tendency he demanded the mahatma to give him 'mantra' to get over his sins, even wielding his stick! Looking at the almost threatening manner of the robber, the mahatma asked the robber to go to a forest and plant his stick there first. Then he asked him to every night, water the stick while reciting Lord's name. And when the stick sprouts leaves, it would signify that his sins have ended. And so the robber began going every night to the forest to water the stick and recite Lord's name. It went on for a while, and needless to say no sign whatsoever of the stick sprouting! However, one night during his trip to forest, he overheard couple people plotting something terrible. One of them wanted to just kill the village-head because of some past rivalry. And the other thought it is safer to burn down the entire village while sleeping because that will ensure that there is no evidence left! Eventually, they seem to agree to burn down the village as the plan of their action. Hearing all this robber realized the magnitude of disaster impending in his village. In few seconds his whole village might go up in flames by the arson. Right then, he pulled out the stick he planted in the forest as part of his 'deeksha' (discipline) and using it smashed the head(s) of the robbers about to commit the arson! In the process spilt and fell on that stick. Right then, that stick began to sprout with many leaves! Conclusion: Swamiji said using our strength or skill(s) at right time, for right cause in a right way is following dharma.
