Improving vs. jumping off

Somewhere in these pages, maybe something Dennis wrote, I came across

the idea of there being a point where one ceases trying to improve or

change any outward thing, and just " jumps away " from it, giving up the

idea of higher/lower, I assume, coming to a lack of belief in all of

it. I'm not sure if I've got the idea above correct or not. I couldn't

find the place where I'd read it.

I'm still at the place where I want to see " improvement " , a technique

that " works " , etc. but at the same time, during the same thought/image,

it also seems clear that whatever " improvement " , newest " technique " ,

better version of anything, is just passing and won't last for long.

And I see this over and over and over again and should know better, but

there continues to be that little hope that " improvements " will last

and that there'll be a really great something or other because of

that " improvement " . Ha! I guess the only thing to do is keep doing this

until I don't do it any more. It seems I'm right there on the edge,

about to jump...but just can't quite do it yet.

I've spent much time with John Levy's book and I've about used up my

book budget for awhile. Will someone give me an opinion on the works of

Sri Atmananda's books? I'd like to buy just one of them soon and then

not spend any more on books for a month or two! Thanks, Steve
