Guest guest
Dear Prabhuji ! Hari Hari Bol! Please read message number #36361 titled Re: 'This Sun is brahman and I too am brahman' in this post , i have written in detail about Sri Tyagaraja's beautiful composition Dwaitamu Sukhama ? A – Dvaitamu Sukhamaa ? (Which conduces to beatitude ( " sukhamaa " ), Dvaita or Advaita ? Dvaita which declares that Jivaatma is different from the Paramaatma or Advaita which asserts that they are identical ?) i have reproduced the entire Song in Telegu along with the full meaning ! Incidentally Sri Tyagaraja was a a Bhakta of Lord Rama but like all parama bhaktas , he was also a parama jnani! He has also composed another beautiful song called " intakannAnanda mEmi! O rAma rAma " in Raga Bilahari whose lyrics and meaninga are given below ! intakannAnanda mEmi! O rAma rAma ! santajanulakElla sammatiyuNTE gAni caraNam 1 ADutsu nAdamuna pADutsu yEduraTa vEDutsu manasuna gUDiyuNDEdi tsAlu caraNam 2 shrIharikIrtanacE dEhAdi indriya samUhamula maranci sOhamainadE tsAlu caraNam 3 nIjapamula vELa nI jagamulu nIvai rAjillunayya tyAgarAjanuta carita Meaning: O Rama! What can be greater bliss that this? All the saints are of the same view! Dancing and singing and praying for your grace, keeping you well established in the mind! (What can be greater bliss than this?) Singing the glory of Hari, forgetting the body and its senses and ever realising the one truth of *I am That *(What can be greater bliss than this?) While chanting your name, the entire universe dissolves into you! O Rama, object of Tyagaraja's worship! (What can be greater bliss than this?) EXPLANATION This is a divyanAma kriti. It is therefore without an anupallavi. It is a gem in alliteration, with terms such as Adutsu, vEDutsu etc beautifully rhyming and almost giving a word picture of a Rama Bhajana in progress. It also shows the Bhakti method of realising the Supreme. http://www.www.sangeetham.com/tygkritis/IntakannAnandamEmi.htm Prabhuji : let me quote to you a verse from Srimad Bhagavad Gita : bhaktya tv ananyaya sakya aham evam-vidho 'rjuna jnatum drastum ca tattvena pravestum ca parantapa ( chapter 11 , verse 54) A great bhaktha of Lord Krishna , Srila Prabhpada translates this verse thus My dear Arjuna, only by undivided devotional service can I be understood as I am, standing before you, and can thus be seen directly. Only in this way can you enter into the mysteries of My understanding. A great vedanti like Swami Chinmayananda translates the same verse thus : But, by single-minded devotion, can I, of this Form, be 'known' and 'seen' in reality, and also 'entered' into, O Parantapa (O scorcher of your foes)! Regarding devotion Shankara says: " No doubt, of the means available for liberating ourselves, the most substantial hardware is Bhakti; and identifying ourselves with the Self is called Bhakti. " Anyway , Prabhuji - all bhaktas start with 'apara' bhakti by worshipping the archavigraha murthi of the Lord by offering prayers and performing daily pujas etc but in course of time as bhakthi matures , the bhakta proceeds to the 'para bhakthi' stage where the bhakta feels 'oneness' with the object of worship , his Lord , and realizes the advaitic jnana 'i and the lord are one! This is what vaishnavites call Sahujyam or kaivalyam and advaitins call 'mukthi' ! The end result is the same but the paths are different! In the Srima Bhagavad gita it is said that both Bhakti and Jnana can co- exist side by side and are not opposed to each other ! Karma yoga and bhakti yoga can also co-exist ! The only question is can karma yoga and jnana yoga co-exist side by side ? you will get your answers in chapter 12 of the Srimad Bhagwat Gita ! A bhakta worships the Lord first and reaches advaitic jnana ! A jnani wishes to know and understand everything about the lord first before merging with the higher self( paramatman) ! Bhaskar prabhuji , let us hear your views on this subject! love and regards Hari Aum Tat Sat !
Guest guest
hare krishna, namaskarams there are two bhaskarans currently seen in the mails and i would humbly submit that i am known by the name as baskaran and not bhaskaran prabhuji. i just sent the post as i enjoyed the song and was " nt aware of message 36361 by smt.dyanasraswathy.anyhow i thank smt.D for the song " intakannA anandamumemi " in bhilahari. i am bsically a krishna bhaktan and an advaitin at heart and have few songs written by me with the blessings of the lord and my mother who is my guru.. Guest guest
hare krishna, namaskarams there are two bhaskarans currently seen in the mails and i would humbly submit that i am known by the name as baskaran and not bhaskaran prabhuji. praNAms baskaran prabhuji Hare Krishna My name is not baskaran prabhuji :-)) I am only Bhaskar ( note the *bha* - mahAprANa in my name bhAskar). Now, with regard to your mail, baskaran prabhuji, I have a doubt with the following translation..: // quote // As the Eternal Witness ( " saakshi " ) of cosmos ( " saarva " ), please enlighten me ( " maa vinu " ), Lord ( " Chaitanya " ). Throw light ( " delpumu " ) on this mystery ( " vistaaramugaanu " ) so that I comprehend ( " naato " ) it beyond any doubt. //unquote// As far as my limited knowledge goes in Telugu the word vistAramugA's (vistaaramugaanu) meaning is *in an elaborated manner*, & nAto (naato) means *with me* with this I think the word *delpumu* has the different meaning here...I request Sri Sadananda prabhujigaaru to clarify this. Hari Hari Hari Bol!!! bhaskar
Guest guest
Baskaran-ji: on my part, there was no confusion! i had addressed my mail to Bhaskar prabhuji ( long term member of this list) He is the one who addresses everyone as Prabhuji! please read my post carefully there is no mention of either Baskaran or Bhaskar ! i have no problem with your repeating the song 'Dwaitamo sukhama' - great things are worth repeating! Smile:-) i am glad to know you are a great krishna bhaktin! Bhakti leads to mukthi ! Did you all know that Saint Tyagaraja actually saw Sri Rama face to face in a dream ten days before he attained Samadhi! It was said that Lord Rama appeared before him on 27-12-1846 in his dream and offered him Moksha after 10 days. Next day he revealed this to his disciples and relatives during 'Ekadesi Bhajanai'.Believe it or not , He united with his lord and master Sri Rama on 6-1-1847! In his beautiful composition " Nidhi Chala Sukama, Thyagaraja states clearly that it is not wealth that he desries but only the lotus feet of the Lord! Great Saints like Thyagaraja , Muthuswamy Dikshitir , Shyama Satry and Annamachariar all were parama bhaktas and parama jnanis! They were not bhaktas outwardly , they also practiced advaita bhava - seeing the Lord ( self) in everyone! Vaasudevam Sarvam iti ( LORD KRISHNA IS EVERYWHERE) and Vasudaiva kUTMBAKAM (THE WHOLE WORLD IS MY FAMILY) were their philosophical approaches! Baskar-ji , why don't you share some of your poems with us ? love and regards In advaitin , Baskaran <baskaran42 wrote: > > hare krishna, namaskarams > there are two bhaskarans currently seen in the mails and i would humbly submit that i am known by the name as baskaran and not bhaskaran prabhuji. > > i just sent the post as i enjoyed the song and was " nt aware of message 36361 by smt.dyanasraswathy.anyhow i thank smt.D for the song " intakannA anandamumemi " in bhilahari. > i am bsically a krishna bhaktan and an advaitin at heart and have few songs written by me with the blessings of the lord and my mother who is my guru.. > " Dancing and singing and praying for your grace, keeping you well > > established in the mind!
