Guest guest
This was the subject of the monthly topic in Sept 2004 and it was lead by Sri Gregory Goode, the then chief mofderator . please read messages 24409 and the thread! After reading Sadaji's moving avccount of his personal Saadhnaa , i am simply awe -struck! As a Shakta ( worshipper of Goddess Lalita) i luved the idea of you doing the early morning 'namaskarams' to your most beloved wife! The following quote from Manu Smriti comes to mind " Where women are honoured, there the gods are pleased, but where they are not honoured, there no sacred rite is fruitful. " . Also Sri Ramakrishna paramahamsa used to worship his wife Sarada Devi as a 'divine mother' and it is said in the manu smriti " From the point of view of reverence due,a teacher is ten fold superior to a mere lecturer,a father a hundredfold to a teacher, and a mother a thousandfold to a father. " Yes! if women are treated with love and reverance in a household by the men folk , the children also develop high self esteem and thrive! Nice thread ! Gandhiji's daily life itself was a life of meditation! He started the day with prayers and ended the day with prayers! In fact , Gandhiji was fond of saying " Knowledge and devotion, to be true, have to stand the rest of renunciation of the fruits of action " ! He further emphasised " In order that knowledge may not run riot, the author of the Gita has insisted on devotion accompanying it and has given it the first place. " love to one and all
