Guest guest
Namaste Bhasker Prabhuji: I wholeheartedly agree with you that there is no point in digging deep inside the black-hole to look for something. If any of us understand clearly what Shankara BhagavadpAda really meant, we wouldn't be continuing a cyber satsangh. Persons with varied religious and philosophical background interpret and appreciate Shankara's work for different reasons. For example, the most popular of his works, " Bhajagovindham " is admired by advaitins, dwaitans and Visistadvaitans for different reasons. Even if they don't agree on what he really meant in Bhajagovindham, they are all able to relish the Truth that they see and cherish. Shri Sastriji has provided references to the Post-Shankara scholars with their viewpoints and pointed out correctly why it is futile to spend our time in making our own judgment on who is right and who is wrong. Besides you, we all should stop discussing on the merits/demerits of scholarly works and divert on our focus to find the unity in the diversity of opinions expressed by the scholars. None of us possess the level of scholarship necessary to make critical review of those works. The purpose of this Cyber Satsangh is to bring all the hidden works on Vedanta philosophy so that everyone can get an access. Since we all come with different background and different interests, it shouldn't be surprising to see we have varied opinions on a topic of interest. Hopefully, we all will agree that Sankara's focus was more on `eradicating ignorance' and consequently we should spend our time in that direction. Sadaji has already stated why `contemplation' is a better choice than `confrontation,' and let us move to another topic instead of digging deep inside the black-hole.
