Thank you so much for all your wonderful explanations on the subject

of deep sleep and the 'happiness' therein!

 

Nairji , your cooments on 'happiness' in deep sleep is very much in

line with the thinking of Sri Anandaji and you know for me

Anandaji's word is Vedavaak ! Only one comment ! if one needs rest

and relaxation, how did Great Saints like Sri Ramana Maharishi get

rest and relaxation during their years of meditation at Virupaksha

cave ? How did he bathe , how did he eat and how did he sleep ? I

think the answers are found in Swami Rama's book " Living with the

himalayan masters "

 

My Balaguriji - You never fail to amaze me. Veera Maata is bvery

proufof her Lion cub for his scholarly responses . Now , can you

please explain the play of the three Gunas and their influence

during the waking, dream and deep sleep states ?

 

Sadaji - thanx for the 'Laddu' Now after reading the Laddu example ,

i know i can have my laddu and eat it too Sadaji , i was reminded of

this verse from Srimad Bhagavat gita after reading your post

 

ya nisa sarva-bhutanam

tasyam jagarti samyami

yasyam jagrati bhutani

sa nisa pasyato muneh

 

What is night for all beings is the time of awakening for the self-

controlled; and the time of awakening for all beings is night for

the introspective sage.

 

Yes - Gudakesa means who is controller of senses ! May Sri Krishna

continue to elighten us through sri Ramji via his gita satsangh

discourses .

 

Now , this note is for Shastriji - thanx a lot shastriji for

providing the reference from Sri Madhusudana saraswati's

Siddanthabindhu ! sHastriji , i have a special corner in my heart

for Sri madhusudana saraswati who even after Attaining advaita

siddhi retained a dwaita bhava of 'krishna prema ' in his heart for

his ishta nista ! WHO SAYS JNANA AND BHAKTI CANNOT CO-EXIST ?

 

what a delight to be in a group of knowledgeble members who can

remove the clouds of ignorance surrounding the intellect in a

moment's notice !
